Stott Creations Phoenix, AZ Feb 2003 – Mar 2004 Mercator Architect / Sr. Developer – Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System  Architect that designed the structure to process all health care transactions for the state of Arizona with the federally mandated HIPAA transactions. Using Mercator and Oracle I created a system of maps and stored procedures for a workflow system that accepts encounters, and then holds them until a corresponding email is delivered by authorized individuals to release the encounters to be processed. This is for a Balanced Budget Amendment Act requirement that we are implementing. Assisting in the development of all of the transactions for the state of Arizona and Hawaii, namely the following transactions: 1. 834 Benefit Enrollment & Maintenance 2. 820 Payment Order/Remittance 3. 837 Claim / Encounters 4. 835 Claim Payment 5. 270 Eligibility Inquiry 6. 271 Eligibility Response 7. 276 Health Care Claim Status 8. 277 Health Care Claim Notification Set up the environment on Windows 2000 Creating the error handling processes with HP Open view using Mercator’s SNMP agent Optimizing the compliance check map to check through type 4 edits Created all of the architecture maps to go around the Commerce Manager maps, namely the ‘Troller’ map to grab all of the files that would exist on the two FTP sites where Health Plans drop the files off, and then it will pick them up and place them for Commerce Manager 7 to process Created the Router map that will determine which state, direction, transaction, and type of file (monthly / daily) and route it to its appropriate application map. Created the rename map that will go to the FTP site for post Commerce Manager, and rename the file to the predefined file naming standard. This standard is one that differs for each state, and for each transaction. Different files are being processed by a web application, and others are being placed on one of two ftp servers.           Created a map that will send a JCL file to the Mainframe to invoke Connect Direct to pick up the files that are ready to be processed by the mainframe applications. Created a Commerce Manager ‘reject map’ that will determine what type of reject was created and depending on inbound transactions, if invalid data is found, sending the data to the compliance report map, otherwise for invalid outbound data and invalid trade link information, sending a trap to Open-View for proper notification procedures. Skilgroup Toronto, ON Oct 2002 – Dec 2002 Mercator Architect / Sr. Developer – McDonalds  Assisted in the architecture set up of the new Innovate Project, which consisted of Human Capital, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance interfaces. Developed systems that sent messages via MQ Series from Vendors to the Global Transformation Team to load into Oracle for use within Oracle Forms. Created a system that monitored the process of every map and reported the results of the map regardless of the status. This is to assist in the support staff that will be working with the data after all of the development. There was no current way to track the status of individual messages that were being passed through the transformation center, nor any way to troubleshoot the process if the data does not conform to the predefined standards. Created systems to report customized error messages about the individual components of the data, thus minimizing the time needed to troubleshoot the issues regarding why data is not being passed through the transformation center. This is done by using the Mercator Type Tree and parsing the data in the audit log. Created a system that would initially archive the data as it enters the transformation center. Also this archive system is set up to handle if any component is to fail, a backup of the input is created for easier troubleshooting. Created interfaces for the Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Capital group involving EDI Advanced Ship Notice (856), and other proprietary data formats ranging from Royal Bank of Canada customized data structures to Oracle table structures. Set up the Mercator environments for the Sun Solaris platform, and AIX RS/6000 machines connecting to DB2, Oracle and IBM MQ Series along with using the resource registry for an automated promotion process. Was the only developer to develop maps in all of the different departments, Supply Chain, Human Capitol, Finance, and Operations. The reason was because I was able complete interface maps in a matter of days instead of weeks like other developers. Ciber Charlotte, NC        Apr 2002 – Oct 2002 Sr. Mercator Consultant – Evergreen Investments  Converted existing Mercator maps from Mercator 5 to 6.5.2, and had to optimize the current set of maps to meet the speed requirements that were set by the faster version 5 maps. Creating new systems to for reconciliation of trades which consisted of taking database entries and formatting them for proprietary systems and statistical reports for traders use Creating systems that post trades from MFTP to Trustware, and Portia via FTP Using XML to format data prior to loading it to Sybase, MS Sql Server Created a replication/purge system that set up scheduled times for system wide replication of data from Production → QA → Development. Along with the replication, there was a purge that would, on weekends, purge particular files based on time entries. There was also an archive feature that would compress all of the particular files into one zipped file. The configuration of this structure is planned to be loaded in a web page, but until the development of the interface, I created an XML auto loading function that was an intermediate interface into the configuration table for the replication/archival/purge system. Assisted in the development of a custom interface into existing DLLs and Java classes using the Socket adapter to decrease the time needed for the posting of trades to a proprietary trade processing system. Created an interface to ensure that data is not duplicated in Mercator if the process was to abort abnormally. This was imperative because when processing certain messages and files, there would be a dynamic number of outputs. There was normally a non-Mercator process that would feed off the data, and replication of data from Mercator was prohibited as it would affect the screens that traders would see as either account balances or share holdings. Minneapolis, MN       Feb 2002 – Apr 2002 Zinncorp Sr. Mercator Consultant – GMAC RFC  Handled service request on existing maps that load loan data into loan processing system.  Created new maps taking data and converting it into XML format, sending requests for emailing and archiving via MQ Series, and cross referencing data in Oracle databases. Oct 2001 – Jan 2002 Adecco Indianapolis, IN Mercator Architect– Roche Diagnostics  The architectural designer to set up their SAP to EDI interface. This includes using BAPI transactions to post EDI data into SAP. Created systems using both ALE and EDI IDOCs generated from SAP to be translated into ANSI and EDIFACT documents. The use of both ALE and             EDI IDOCs were dependant on different processes dependant on the nature of the IDOC and the business requirements. Configured, and tested the Mercator Commerce Manager/Message Manager to route data from internal and external trading partners. Configured the new SNMP agent to monitor event server for reporting event server workload, successful completion, failures, and warnings of maps along with processor usage into Tivoli. Use of the Resource Registry for seamless migration from Sandbox – Development – Test – Production for connection information into SAP environment on different servers. Configured Oracle database as backend for both Commerce Manager, including migration, and troubleshooting from version 5 database to version 6 using SQL plus. Along with use within Commerce Manager, also is the backbone for the SAP 4.6 environment. Installed and configured Mercator Event Server 6 on AIX 4.33 environment, along with installation of Mercator Design Studio 6 with the event server monitoring tools. Configured the email adapter to send out error messages generated by message manager from the AIX platform. Using both ALE and EDI router maps to migrate data to/from the SAP/EDI environment using ALE status IDOCs to send status messages back to SAP regarding the particular status of the EDI Transaction for use in the R/3 document tracking system. Configuring development system, Mercator Design Studio, for integration with version control software – PVCS Implemented the new version of Message Manager 6 and connectivity with Oracle database. Created a class to instruct both SAP and Business Unit (10 people in total) about the new features of Mercator 6. Developed maps to route both EDI (X12 and EDIFACT) data and IDOCs to their respective maps to transform them into the opposing data format. Developed a Mercator validation system for testing all of the different interfaces that Roche is planning on implementing, namely the email, R/3 ALE, FTP, database, and file adapters. Re-engineered some of the maps that came with Commerce Manager for correct reporting in the Mercator Partner Manager application. Mercator Wilton, CT  Jan 2001 – Aug 2001 Mercator Education Instructor  Taught all of the classes offered publicly, which consisted of Fundamentals of Data Transformation, Database Interface Designer, System Designer, EDI, Integration Broker Manager’s Overview, and Mercator for SAP. As the only instructor to teach the SAP course, was primarily sent to customer sites to teach, and subsequently was the only one to set up the clients R/3 system for the class, so have extensive BASIS background, focusing on how SAP interfaces with Mercator. Developed materials for the Advanced Mapping Course, which was a compilation of various recurring customer issues that were brought to my attention at various classes. I also queried the Help Desk for issues that   they have seen. The course covers map optimization using the Integration Flow Designer to reuse work files at certain parts of the transformation cycle, more robust ways of creating router maps (maps which call other maps depending on information contained in the input data), explanation and examples of the paging size in the map setting, how to dynamically change setting found within a map (depending on the day of the week, time of day, sending or receiving customer), the uses of the Clone function, examples and uses for the batch, email, archive, sink, and application adapter. Developed Tibco/Rendezvous exercises. Was the lead on reviewing two new courses to be taught at Mercator which consisted of SAP course because of my experience of SAP 4.0b, 4.6a, b ,and c. The topics that are covered, that I created exercises for are the BDC, DXOB, ALE/EDI IDOCs, and BAPI interfaces. Also designed the Database class because of my experience with Oracle 8i, MS SQL Server 7 and 2000 Wells Fargo Minneapolis, MN Jan 2000 – Dec 2000 Business Systems Consultant III   Was Responsible for Key activities related to design, development and implementation of Mercator to and from the MVS platform Monitored Event Server, which was used to execute the Message Manager maps. The Run-time event triggers were configured graphically using the Integration Flow Designer. During execution, data flows seamlessly between system components Created a product that included interfaces with Visa, Mastercard, MCI and the Automated Clearing House Association (ACH) being delivered from an MVS platform Took feeds from offshore drilling company’s SAP R/3 system (IDOC) to produce domestic and international wire, check, ACH, and International ACH payments in XML, EDI, and proprietary flat files. Dealing with SWIFT, domestic wire, domestic ACH, and Check formats Created EDI documents (820,821,824,996,997) in versions 3010, 3040, 4010 to be processed by internal systems. A confirmation was sent back to the customer in XML format to be processed by their legacy application. Converted maps from Sterling Gentran and Connexion to Mercator Maintained partner profiles in an Oracle environment Supported various maps that took EDI data, converted them to XML to be converted into PDF documents. Troubleshooting and support on the Mercator Maps       Certifications BizTalk MVP, BizTalk 2004 Certified, Mercator Core Consultant Certification, Networking Fundamentals
