HANGMAN: Rules For Hangman Word Game Hangman is a classic paper and pencil game. The idea of the gallows may be a little morbid, but it also adds to the excitement of the game, especially for boys. Everyone wants to save the poor person from a grim fate! NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2 (or more). 1 must be the executioner, and 1 or more letter guessers. WHAT'S NEEDED TO PLAY: A pencil and some paper are needed to play the game. A clipboard is also a handy hard surface to play on. SETUP: Either print out some pre-prepared hangman pages or draw a simple gallows and write out the alphabet above or below the gallows. To save time you can print out one of these hangman pages: HOW TO PLAY: Choose one person to be the executioner. That person will think of a word or short phrase an mark out blanks (short lines) for each letter of each word. Separate words with either a slash, a fairly wide gap, or place words on separate lines. Then another player will guess a letter. If that letter is in the word(s) then write the letter in everywhere it would appear, an cross out that letter in the alphabet. If the letter isn't in the word then add a body part to the gallows (head, body, left arm, right arm, left leg , right leg). The player will continue guessing letters until they can either solve the word (or phrase) or all six body parts are on the gallows. TO WIN: The executioner wins if the full body is hanging from the gallows. The guesser(s) wins if they guess the word before the person is hung.
Boggle
Players can write down words they find in the grid that match the following rules:
The letters in the words must be connected in the same order in the grid. The letters can be connected by an edge or a corner. The word doesn't have to appear in a straight line, It can be tangled around. Each letter in the word must uniquely appear in the grid. For example, if the word is ERASE, the letter E must appear twice in the grid. The word can't just loop back and re-use the same E. Words must be at least 3 letters long Words cannot be a proper noun, such as a name or place.

How A Boggle Game Ends There are 4 ways that you can end a boggle game. Just decide in advance which game play you'll use: 1. Each printable boggle page can be considered a separate game. 2. Play a certain number of rounds. Print out enough copies of each boggle game page, and when the pages are done, the game is over. Add up the points to see you has won. 3. Play for a certain length of time. The disadvantage of this method is that you don't know in advance how many different printable boggle game pages you'll need. Print out plenty, just in case. 4. Play up to a certain number of points. Again, you don't know how many pages you'll need, so print plenty in advance. You may decide that you'll use a combination of rules. For example, you may decide to play 5 rounds or up to half an hour, whichever comes first. Scoring Your Boggle Game In boggle, you only earn points if no one else has found a word that you have and that word is a valid word from the grid. In order to determine which words can score, someone will read their list of words. If any two players have that word, then the word must be crossed off each list. When the first player is finished with their list, then the next player reads through their list and players cross off duplicate words. This continues until everyone had read their list and has a list of unique words they have found. Here is how to score the words:
Less than 3 letters= 0 pts (invalid boggle word) 3 letters = 1 pt 4 letters = 1 pt 5 letters = 2 pts 6 letters = 3 pts 7 letters = 5 pts 8 letters or more = 11 pts (optional scoring rule) Word matches theme = double the points for the word length

Quick Rules: 2 Players alternate turns filling in 1 square each at a time. Each player uses a different symbol (eg. X and O) or color to fill in the their squares. The first player can fill in any square in the grid. On each following play, only squares connected to previously filled in squares are eligible to be filled in. The first player to fill in 5 squares in a row (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) wins.
