                         NEWSLETTER – NOVEMBER 2011

The staff and committee would like to take this opportunity to welcome back after the half
term break.

Thank you to all parents who volunteered their help with this year’s Westonbirt trip. A great
day was had by all. Photos will go up in the hall for everyone to look at and purchase if you
wish. They will also be available on the website soon.

Children In Need Activity Week - 14th – 18th November
In support of Children in Need, the pre-school is having a week of Pudsey activities. All
proceeds to Children In Need - These include:

      Pudsey Colouring Competition – Pudsey will be sent home with your child to decorate as
       you like. Please send your entry back to pre-school by Friday 18th November. There
       will be a prize for the winning entry. £1 per entry.
      Arts and Crafts
      Decorating biscuits, making cakes
      Fancy Dress on Friday 18th November - £1 entry

LADIES ONLY PAMPER EVENING – 18TH NOVEMBER 7.30PM
SUPPORTING BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER
The Committee present a night of relaxation and pampering!! On the night there will
be mulled wine and girly cocktails, cup cakes and treats with massage and
aromatherapy, Yoga, manicures and pedicures, waxing, eyebrow shaping, makeover
consultants, acrylic/gel nails, cosmetics, clairvoyant, Phoenix Cards, jewellery, lava
lamps and more for you to relax and enjoy with friends. YOU CAN PRE-BOOK
TREATMENTS OR CHOOSE ON THE NIGHT.

Tickets are available from Pre-School. £3 in advance or £3.50 on the door. This
includes a welcome drink and chocolate treat on arrival.
Walk to Pre-School Awards
As part of our healthy eating award we encourage children to walk to pre-school. There is a
form in the hall for parents to sign if their children have walked to school. Rewards can be
earned on any day of the week if your child has walked to school, just mark it off on the
board. Earn rewards for prizes, as follows:

10 walks - Bronze, 20 walks – Silver, 30 walks – Gold
(You don’t have to walk all of the way - why not park your car part of the way and walk the
rest – Parking is always difficult outside pre-school!)

Fee Increase
Due to an increase in rent, fees will increase from January 2012. New fees will be £3.50 per
hour.
           Morning session – 3 hours – £10.50, Afternoon session – 2.5 hours - £8.75

CAR PARK - A POLITE REQUEST
By request of the Parish, please can we emphasise that the car park should not be used by
parents to collect or drop off children. The car park is for staff only. Please park away
from Pre-School and walk in. Thank you.

Christmas Nativity
The Christmas Nativity for the older children (children starting school in September 2012)
will be held on Friday 9th December. There will be no normal Pre-School today.

9:00am     Children to be dropped off in Pre-School
9:30am     Nativity commences in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Children to be collected immediately after Nativity in Pre-School.
All parents, carers and their families are then invited to join us for coffee and mince pies in
the Pre-School where the Christmas Raffle will also take place. Please come along and show
your support.

The dress rehearsal is on Thursday 8th December (not confirmed). It is important that
ALL children in the nativity attend, even if they don’t usually attend the Wednesday
morning session. For children who don’t usually attend the Wednesday morning session
please make sure that you pick them up immediately after the rehearsal. There will be
refreshments in pre-school for waiting parents.
CHRISTMAS HAMPERS & RAFFLE
Please donate an item for the Christmas Hampers, please write your name next to the item
on the list in reception and bring in to pre-school by Wednesday 7th December.

Christmas raffle tickets have been sent home with children in the book bags. If anyone has
their own business and would like to donate a prize please let one of the staff know. If you
would like more raffle tickets to sell, please let us know. Your help is much appreciated.

We have some fabulous raffle prizes this year including the fantastic food and drinks
hampers, boxing gloves signed by world champion Bristol boxer Glenn Catley, Bristol Rovers
tickets, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm tickets, Ice Skating passes, bowling passes, swim vouchers and
many more to chose from. THERE IS ALSO A PRIZE FOR THE FAMILY WHO SELLS THE
MOST TICKETS!!!!!

CHRISTMAS PARTY
Friday 16th December TIMES TO FOLLOW
The party is for all pre-school children and there will be no normal Pre-School session on this
day. Further information will follow.

AND FINALLY …..

We would like to thank everyone who attended the AGM and Quiz
Night which saw the new Committee elected to manage the pre-school.
The first Committee meeting is on 25 November which is for
Committee members only.

If you would like the Committee to consider any matters, or you have any fundraising ideas,
please contact the pre-school. If you would like to join the Committee, please see Sam
Hadjiantoni or a member of the Committee from the list below.

This year we will be continuing to raise funds to improve our outside area and purchase
equipment for the children. Thank you to everyone for their continued support, as always it
is much needed and appreciated.
