Beginning on May 5, 2003, Avaya expects to start shipping new and upgrade orders with
Release 1.3 of Avaya™ Communication Manager (formerly known as Avaya MultiVantage™
Software). Other new products or changes are also being introduced on or soon after May,
2003.

This document will provide you information on: Communication Manager 1.3, Avaya™ Media
Gateways (G600, G700, CMC1, SCC1, MCC1), Avaya™ Media Servers (S8700, S8300,
S8100), Avaya DEFINITY Servers (R, SI, CSI), the Avaya™ Integrated Management Suite
(formerly known as Avaya Visibility™ Management Suite), and Avaya™ IP Softphone,
Avaya™ IP Telephones, Avaya™ IP SoftConsole, Avaya Wireless Telephones.

Product Name Changes
In 2003, Avaya will expand the use of MultiVantage to encompass all Avaya Applications
with the following categories: Telephony, Contact Center, Messaging and Unified
Communication. Promoting the MultiVantage name to a solution level used to describe all
Avaya applications, will result in a name for the call processing software.

The new name for the call processing software is Avaya Communication Manager.
Please refrain from using MultiVantage when referring to previous releases of call processing
software such as 1.1 and 1.2. Instead use Avaya Communication Manager Release 1.1, 1.2
or 1.3.

Communication Manager Release 1.3
Communication Manager Release1.3 introduces a variety of new features that deliver new
value to customers:
     Reduce networking costs
     Security
     VoIP improvements
     Increase Scalability for Distributed Communications
     Enhance Responsiveness to Customers
     Improve Productivity

New Orders & Upgrades from pre-R10 to Communication Manager 1.3
Communication Manager 1.3 will begin shipping on May 5, 2003. When a new
configuration, or upgrade order from pre-R10, is submitted it will ship with Release 1.3
software as long as it leaves the factory on May 5 or later.

Avaya™ Communication Manager API
The Communications Manager API is a standards-based, open access, secure, reliable,
scalable and cost effective application programming interface to Communication Manager
that will:
     Allows the development of powerful new applications using standards-based APIs.        Formatted: Bullets and Numbering
       Initially this will be only for Avaya-developed applications.
     Significantly increase the value of the Avaya enterprise IP telephony feature server
     Seamlessly integrate telephony features into key business applications and processes
     Provide a rapid development environment to deliver high value to the market place
       while dramatically reducing the time to market

New Avaya IP call recording applications will be supported by the Avaya Communication
Manager API, and are scheduled to be released during the Summer of 2003.


Avaya S8100 Media Server with G600 and CMC1 Media Gateway
No hardware or firmware changes for this release.

Avaya S8300 and S8700 Media Servers

Avaya S8300 Media Server with Avaya G700 Media Gateway enhancements:
    S8300/G700 capacity will increase to 450 Trunks/450 Users (total 900 ports)
    Up to 10 LSPs will be supported per S8300 Media Server
    G700 Tone Detectors to support 15 ports
    MM711 Analog enhancement to support all 8 ports per Media Module and all 4 Analog
      Media Modules per Media Gateway
    G700 embedded VAL Announcement sources will increase to 50
    Russian Co Trunk for G700
    Software/Firmware CD-ROM will be included with the S8300 ICC/LSP

Avaya S8700 Media Server
    Avaya S8700 Media Server with MCC1/SCC1 Media Gateway will support (30) G700
      Media Gateways. With the previous release of MultiVantage, only (10) G700s were
      supported.
    Up to 5 port networks can be supported in a MCC1 Media Gateway (Avaya S8700
      and DEFINITY R server only).
    Increase in G700 capacities up to 250 Media Gateways
    Increase in total number of S8300 LSP up to 50
    G700 embedded VAL Announcement sources will increase to 250
    Avaya S8700 Media Server with MCC1/SCC1 Media Gateway will support separation
      of Center Stage Switch with Critical Reliable Systems
    With Release 1.3, S8700 Media Server will ship with Tripwire, providing customers
      with an additional level of security.

Avaya G700 Media Gateways
With MultiVantage 1.3, Avaya will introduce a new G700 Media Gateway which allows up to
4 analog media modules and 15 touch-tone detectors for Communication Manager 1.3
systems. Additionally, it can be stacked with the old G700 Media Gateways. This will have a
new comcode 700259898 replacing the existing comcode 700018534.

Avaya MCC1/SCC1 Media Gateways
Power Supply Changes
All configured and Fixed BOM power units on the SCC/ESCC are targeted for a running
change in April 2003. Functionality will be the same. Power Unit 1217A will be replaced by
Power Unit 1217B with the new comcode 700245012.

Avaya IP Telephones
Communication Manager release 1.3 supports firmware version 1.8 for the 4606, 4612,
4624, 4620, 4630 IP Telephones and version 1.7 for the 4602 IP Telephone. You can obtain
the latest version of the firmware by going to the Avaya Web site at:
http://www.avaya.com/support/

For the 4620 IP Telephone, the new version will support German, Dutch and Brazilian
Portuguese user interfaces.

New 4602SW and 4630SW IP Telephones will be available, with the following enhancements
over the 4602 and 4630 models:
    Support IEEE powering
    Include an internal Ethernet switch (“SW” = switch)
    CSIPR Class B

Avaya IP Softphone
Avaya IP Softphone Release 4 Version 2 (R4V2) will provide the following enhancements:
    2420 Picture of Phone view
    Multilanguage support with Service Pack 2

Avaya IP Softphone for Pocket PC Release 2 includes the following new features:
    CTI control of IP Phones (requires IP Telephone release 1.7). Avaya IP Telephones
      will be supported in the following terminal types: 4606,4612,4620, 4624,4630.
    Multilanguage support
    Skins
    Call Log

Avaya IP Softconsole
Avaya IP Softconsole Release 1.5 offers the following enhancements:
    Support for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP (R1.5 does not support Windows NT)
    LDAP support

Free IP Softconsole R1.5 upgrade version from R1.0 available at www.avaya.com/support.
This requires a IP Softconsole R1.0 license on the PC.

Avaya Integrated Management Suite
This is a suite of integrated voice & data management products for managing converged
networks. It was previously known as Avaya Visability Management Suite. The suite spans
a large array of Avaya products and solutions offering tools that include configuration, fault,
performance, directory, policy and much more.

Avaya Wireless Telephone Solutions
Avaya IP Wireless Telephone Solution is an IEEE 802.11b standards-based 2.4 GHz
wireless LAN telephone system providing mobile voice communications throughout the
workplace using voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology. The system is certified to work with
access points provided by major vendors. It has the following components:
    Introduces the enhanced 3606 Wireless VoIP Telephone supporting connectivity to
       the CLAN and media processor
    SpectraLink Voice Priority (SVP) server
    Telephony Gateways



Communication Manager Release 1.3 Documentation
Beginning with the May Release of Communication Manager 1.3, Avaya will start shipping
documentation kits with each server/LSP from Celestica for every new and upgrade order.
This would mean that every S8100, S8300 S8700, R, SI, CSI Server will receive the same
kit.

Documentation is provided at no cost to the end-user who purchases a new system or
upgrades from a previous release. Below is a summary of the general changes to
documentation as well the documentation that will be included with Release 1.3.
    All customers purchasing new and upgrades of DEFINITY Servers, S8700, S8300 and             Formatted: Bullets and Numbering
      S8100 Media Servers will receive as an entitlement a documentation kit via material
      code 175409. This material code will include one comcode that includes (3) CD-
      ROMs containing the Library of documents and the Little Instruction Booklets (for
      details see below). Distributors will need to order and stock the documentation kits
      to support existing inventory and all new systems.

     The Avaya S8700 will also receive two 'Getting Started' documents with the Server
       (170656). Distributors will need to discard the old “Getting Started” documents and
       replenish with the new. Distributors will need to order material code 170656 to
       support existing S8700 inventory and for all new systems.
     The G700 will not include the quick reference. However, will continue to ship the
       Install and FCC Safety Guide.

With Release 1.3 of Avaya™ Communication Manager, many documents have been
