It is a non-profit hospital devoted to the care of babies, children, adolescents and expectant mothers. LPCA is an academic medical center on the University of Stanford Campus Awards LPCH was ranked as one of the Best Children’s Hospitals by US News for 2012-2013. December of 2007, it was found to be in full compliance with all standards and was awarded the Joint Commission Award. Their Work - Maria Fajardo 12-year-old Maria Fajardo’s double lung transplant was done at LPCH in November. Maria was born with cystic fibrosis, which is a condition that clogs your lungs and can be life threatening. For the last two years before her surgery, she had to be provided an oxygen tank 24/7, and now no longer needs it. Maria said that she is excited that she can now go swimming.
