proceed up Decatur Drive to the BC3 entrance. It is expected the walk will take 5
hours. He should arrive at Main Campus around 1:00 p.m.
“The President will have to be driven through two areas: past Clearview Mall and
from the end of the Picklegate Bridge to Decatur Drive because of vehicle traffic and
limited walking space,” Massaro said.
The College hopes that area businesses along the route will put up messages on
their signs and marquees encouraging the President on his journey. Dr. Neupauer
admits this is the longest walk he has ever done.
“I've walked close to three hours at a time before, but never five hours,” said the
President. “Although some have said they would walk the entire way with me, I would
encourage people to meet me on Main Street for well wishes. Mostly I want people to
understand that I am serious about supporting our students and our College.”
President Neupauer will stay in touch using social media throughout the walk
through his blackberry, Twitter and Facebook.
Friends of the College and donors are invited to greet the President at the main
entrance gate of BC3 at 1:00 p.m. and walk with him on College Drive into the
campus, if desired.
The BC3 Annual Campaign will continue through June 30, 2010. This year’s goal is
$50,000. Donations can be made online at bc3.edu or by contacting Michelle
Jamieson at the Foundation by calling 724-287-8711, ext. 8235.
