Achieve Your Goals!
My future began on a spring day in April 2006, while attending the Bellflower Adult School’s nursing orientation meeting. My first impression was that the Adult School had a organized program with high standards and a compassionate and friendly staff committed to helping me achieve my career goals. Their plan was simple; combine nursing courses, college coursework and work experience to meet the entrance requirements for a Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program. Leaving the adult school that day, I was committed to begin my nursing career with the Bellflower Adult School and to follow their nursing pathway. I found Bellflower’s nursing class to be a friendly and structured environment and with plenty of support to help achieve my goals. I took the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license exam at the conclusion of the program and with the assistance of the Bellflower Adult School, I was employed as a CNA within a couple of months. I took additional nursing classes over the next eighteen months and received my Home Health Assistant licenses while gaining invaluable training through work experience. Over the past two years, I have prepared myself for LVN training at the North Orange County Regional Occupational Program in Anaheim, California, with the guidance of the Bellflower Adult School. I graduated and received my LVN license during the summer of 2008 and am looking forward to the countless opportunities available in nursing today. Little did I realize on that hot day in April 2006, that my career had begun and continues to unfold today. Bellflower Adult School provided me an exemplary training program, employment referral, guidance, and most importantly, a career pathway to my goal of becoming an LVN. Bellflower Adult School’s nurse assistant program, along with my commitment to succeed, have made it possible to do what I love and to practice what I am passionate about: nursing.
