Cervical cancer is included in the top three types of cancer most
commonly experienced by women. It at least kills about 200,000 women each
year. According to a report from the National Cancer Institute, one of
three deaths from cervical cancer is associated with eating the wrong
way.

Cervical cancer can be prevented by certain foods that contain
antioxidants and cancer-fighting substances. Here are some foods and
nutrients you need to prevent cervical cancer, as reported by Health Me

1. Vitamin A, C, E, and calcium
Vitamin A, C, and E contain antioxidants that protect cells from free
radical damage, and indirectly also prevents cervical cancer. A study
published in the International Journal of Gynaecologic Cancer found that
patients who take a multivitamin with vitamin has the risk of cervical
cancer that is lower. In addition to the above vitamins, calcium and
folic acid are also able to enhance the immune system and protects the
body from infection. Foods that contain lots of vitamin A for example are
oranges, carrots, eggs, liver, tuna, and other dairy products.

2. Vitamin B and folate
Foods rich in vitamin B and folate should also often be consumed to
prevent cervical cancer. Folate can lower levels of homocysteine, a
substance that can cause the growth of abnormal cells in the cervix.
Foods rich in vitamin B and folate include broccoli, cauliflower,
cabbage, and more.

3. Avocado
Avocados are known as antioxidants and for its ability to prevent free
radicals. Eating avocados will prevent the growth of cervical cancer.

4. Foods rich in antioxidants
Antioxidants are necessary to prevent cervical cancer. Foods rich in
antioxidants include blueberries, oranges, peppers, cerry, salmon and
fatty fish that are rich in antioxidants. These foods can prevent and
inhibit cancer cell growth in the cervix.

5. Carrots
Carrots contain beta carotene which is good for preventing the growth of
cervical cancer. Foods like chili peppers or jalapeno allegedly able to
neutralize nitrosamines that cause cervical cancer.

6. Polyphenols and flavonoids
Foods that contain polyphenols and flavonoids such as green tea, olive
oil, red wine, black raspberry, blackberry, red wine, chocolate, walnuts,
tomatoes, and green peppers are suspected to prevent cervical cancer and
inhibits cancer growth.

In addition to eating foods that can prevent and inhibit the growth of
cancer of the cervix, women also have to maintain their healthy lifestyle
