NUSACC Names Yousef Al Otaiba Ambassador of the Year in 2010 ● In 2010, the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce named Yousef Al Otaiba, the Ambassador from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United States, the organization’s Ambassador of the Year. ● To celebrate his accolade, the group held a luncheon, sponsored by numerous notable enterprises, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington. ● At the event, the NUSACC president gave opening remarks, in which he described the role the 40-year-old organization plays in connecting more than 22 Arab nations with the United States. ● Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty followed the president and noted the special connection the city enjoys with foreign dignitaries. ● He also recognized some of the UAE’s contributions to the community. ● Subsequently, several business people spoke about their positive interactions with Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba in business and diplomatic capacities. ● The representative from the legal community described how well the Ambassador communicates the mutual interests of the United States and the Middle East. ● He stated that the honoree stands out for this skill and embodies the mission of shared interests better than most diplomats. ● Other speakers also spoke glowingly about the Ambassador’s approach and his accomplishments.
