● In 2010, the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce named Yousef Al Otaiba,
the Ambassador from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United States, the
    organization’s Ambassador of the Year.

● To celebrate his accolade, the group held a luncheon, sponsored by numerous
notable enterprises, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington.

● At the event, the NUSACC president gave opening remarks, in which he described
the role the 40-year-old organization plays in connecting more than 22 Arab
    nations with the United States.
● Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty followed the president and noted the special
connection the city enjoys with foreign dignitaries.

● He also recognized some of the UAE’s contributions to the community.

● Subsequently, several business people spoke about their positive interactions with
Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba in business and diplomatic capacities.
● The representative from the legal community described how well the Ambassador
communicates the mutual interests of the United States and the Middle East.

● He stated that the honoree stands out for this skill and embodies the mission of
shared interests better than most diplomats.

● Other speakers also spoke glowingly about the Ambassador’s approach and his
accomplishments. To read more about the event, please visit NUSACC's website
