When children are selected to represent Eagle House at school matches, we would ask parents to remember that match tea is considered an integral part of the fixture so we would appreciate you not taking them away early, unless you have sought permission beforehand from the Headmaster, just as you would for any absence from the normal school day.

PARTICULARLY PRE-PREP Next week we are looking forward to two exciting events. On Monday Zoolab will visit the Nursery and Reception children and at the end of the week, on Thursday and Friday, we have the Pre-Prep shows. Everyone is welcome to have a coffee in the Old Library between drop off and the beginning of the show. It should last about one hour altogether. Please note: on Friday 9 December ALL the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be swimming for the last time this term and next week is the last week for all the clubs including ballet and judo. Thank you to everyone who attended the ‘unveiling’ of the new playground games. I think you will all agree that the children are really enjoying the games and it has already improved the quality of play. Thank you again to the EHA for their generosity.

BRACKNELL NEWS TOYS AND TINS APPEAL Please search out any nearly-new toys, tins of food or non-perishable products like biscuits and bring them in to school for our collection boxes. This Christmas appeal has been launched to make life better for local people living below the breadline. The newspaper has teamed up with REAP (which helps find secure accommodation in Bracknell) and with local Health Visitors, in order to benefit those who need it most. Please be generous – we feel sure most families in our school could find a toy or game, tin of food or pack of biscuits which would light up the face of a youngster in our locality. This is very close to home. Thank you.

CAROL SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS
By kind permission of Wellington College we are holding our Carol Service again this year in the Wellington College Chapel. The service begins at 11.00am on Friday 16 th December. We shall be responsible for taking all the children up to Wellington for the Carol Service and back to Eagle House afterwards. After the service the Eagle House Association will be providing mince pies and mulled wine (and soft drinks) in the Old Library at Eagle House. Term ends for the main school after the Carol Service (at 12.00 noon approx). Parents will be able then to load up cars and collect children from the school, although we hope of course that you will be able to enjoy the Association’s hospitality first. Parents who wish to get away quickly may load up cars before the Carol Service and take their children direct from Wellington after the Carol Service. The early loading must be done before 10.00am that day as we cannot guarantee that there will be anyone here to assist you after 10.00am. Parents coming to Wellington by car may enter the college grounds by either gate (security controls will not be in action). The easier entry for parents travelling from Eagle House is to turn left out of the school drive and take the first road on the left (Byron Drive). Wellington College is right in front of you. There will be car parking space signposted for Eagle House parents. Parents are advised to allow plenty of time to enter Wellington’s grounds, park the car and walk to the chapel. All the children should come to school on the 16th December wearing (for the boys) school trousers/shorts, school jumper, white shirt, school tie and black shoes, or (for the girls) navy pinafore/skirt, school cardigan, white blouse, navy socks/tights and navy/black shoes. No fleeces to be worn.
