Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental & Tours Announces New “Amazing Ecuador”
New Dual Sport Motorcycle Tour Will Put Ecuador on the Map for Adventure Riders Worldwide
Quito, Ecuador, January 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Ecuador Freedom Ecuador Bike Rental & Tours
announced today that it has created what might be called the ultimate motorcycle tour in South America.
This guided, all-inclusive 9 day / 8 night tour can only be described as “amazing” as riders explore the
stunning diverse terrains and awe-inspiring beauty of Ecuador.
“We expect the Amazing Ecuador tour will put us on the world map for adventure motorcyclists,” states
Court Rand, owner of the Quito based motorcycle tour operator. “It will attract adventure riders who are
seeking that rare combination of back-country exploration and comfortable accomodations.”
Covering 764 miles, 25% of this dual-sport motorcycle tour is on unpaved roads while the remaining are
paved surfaces ranging from ancient, but maintained, cobblestones to modern, first-class pavement.
Riders will travel through cloud forests, rainforests, arid forests, pampas, and high-altitude desert on
roads ranging from 1,500-feet to 14,500-feet in altitude and even on the slopes of the Chimborazo
volcano, the highest landmass in the world and highest peak in Ecuador.
The roads in Ecuador are described by riders as “breathtaking” and the scenery, “astounding”, but this
tour is also filled with incredible stops each day and some of Ecuador's premier lodging destinations each
These are just a sampling of the highlights to be experienced on the Amazing Ecuador tour:
Day 1: The first day's itinerary includes stops at the Inti-fian Museum directly on the equator; the
world-famous Bellavista Cloudforest Bird Lodge; and a tour of the El Quetzal chocolate factory to learn
about how organic chocolate is grown, harvested and processed.
Day 2: Riding into the Rio Intag Cloudforest with a stop at the Nangulvi volcanic baths before heading to
the leather market in Cotacachi. After a stop at the sacred Peguche Falls it's on to the textile market in
Otavalo-one of South America's biggest outdoor markets.
Day 3: It begins on an ancient Incan cobblestone road that lead deep into the rainforest and the Cayambe
Coca Ecological Reserve. The snow-capped Cayambe volcano is the only place where the Earth's equator
passes through snow. The day ends soaking in the luxurious hot springs at Papallacta.
Day 4: A spectacular 10,000-foot drop in altitude on the eastern slopes of the Andes brings the tour into
the Upper Amazon. After a guided tour of the Jumandi Caves riders will cross the mighty Rio Napo River
on a one-lane wire bridge to reach the Cotococha Amazon Lodge.
Day 5: A motorized canoe ride up the Napo River and a hike with a native guide into the Amazon
rainforest is followed by leisurely floating back to the lodge through the Amazon on inner tubes. Then it's
tackling twisty, cliff-hanging roads, past gorgeous waterfalls as riders climb back into the Andes to reach
the volcanic hot springs in Banos for another relaxing soak.
Day 6: This is a “rest” day in Banos where riders can tackle world-class whitewater rapids, rappel down
canyon walls, bungee jump, ride down a volcano on a mountain bike, rock climb, hike in the jungle, or
just hangout in the local bars, restaurants, and soak in the volcanic hot springs.
Day 7: The ride resumes by circling the active Tungarahua volcano on a dirt road and then climbing to
14,500 feet into the Chimborazo National Wildlife Refuge and around the Chimborazo Volcano, the
highest landmass in the world.
Day 8: The Antiqua Ruta a Guaranda is one of the most incredible motorcycle roads in the world and
“canyon carving” will never be the same afterwards. The tour goes through historic Spanish towns and
indigenous villages with their local markets to arrive at Quilotoa Crater Lake.
Day 9: From the remote indigenous village of Sigchos riders will follow an ancient cobblestone road,
then dizzying switchbacks to reach a section of the Pan-American Highway known as the Avenue of
Volcanoes on their way back to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Quito and home base of Ecuador
