Child’s Drawing—Before and After
One of the art activities that the children’s group participates in is creating Before and After drawings. They create a
drawing of their family as they remember them before the death of their loved one and a drawing of their family after the
death. This activity is designed to create an opportunity for discussion about how the family is different now, but they are
still a family.
The drawings above were done by an eight-year-old in our program. The child's mother was murdered and she attends
our program with her grandmother and three siblings.
