WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR Western Kentucky University, Office of the Registrar invites applicants for the position of Assistant Registrar. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2005. Responsibilities: This position is responsible for coordinating the implementation of an automated degree audit system, including project leadership, planning and encoding degree requirements into the Miami Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), training advisors and students to use the system, and facilitating maintenance of the system following implementation. The position reports to the Registrar and will serve as the primary liaison with Administrative Computing Services for degree audit system implementation, maintenance and future enhancements and other responsibilities assigned by the Registrar. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Excellent computer skills. Demonstrated ability to understand and to effectively use tables and rules within a relational database. Knowledge of university academic programs and policies. Exceptional analytical and organizational skills. Experience in project or program development and implementation. Ability to train internal and external constituencies to include creation of training materials. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Successful record as a detail-oriented, self-starter and multi-task individual. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience working with an automated degree audit system. Working knowledge of Banner student information system. Policy and procedure development skills. Salary Grade: 109 Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000 annually.
