        William Stephen Jacobs1 was born in Brabant,2 Belgium, in about 1777/17793
and was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church.4
        He was a Medical Doctor, 5 having received his medical degree on 8 June 1801
from the University of Pennsylvania.6
        In 1804, he received a Burgher Certificate. 7
        In 1816, he was living in Christiansted, having practiced medicine for 12 years,
and serving about 1000 blacks in both the town and countryside.8
        He was married on 14 October 1817 in the Christiansted Danish Lutheran Church
to Juliette Maria Elizabeth, Countesse van Rantzow.9 She was born in Copenhagen in
about 1801 and was baptized in the Lutheran Church. 10
        In 1841, he was living with his family at his property, 10 Hill Street,
Christiansted, and he practiced Medicine, and was the Artillery Surgeon. 11

        1. Juliette Elizabeth Rantzow Jacobs was born on St. Croix12 in about

        Tabitha Jacobs,65 who was born in about 183366/1835 and was baptized in the
Lutheran Church,67 was married to John William Derricks,68 who was born on St. Croix
in about 183069 [183270] and was a member of the Anglican Church.71
        In 1841, he was living at 53a East Street, Christiansted, in his own home,
unmarried, an invalid and exempt from militia duty. 72 Residing with him was Helena
Frederiks, who was born on St. Croix in about 1803 and was baptized in the Moravian
Church. 73 In 1841, she was a Washer by profession.74 Resident with them in 1841, were
their children. 75
         He was married to Tabitha Jacobs,76 who was born in about 1835 and was
baptized in the Lutheran Church.77
         He had a relationship with Isabella Williams, who was born in about 1838 and
was a member of the Anglican Church, Christiansted.78
