AIF appoints new Chief Executive Officer
31 July 2012: The Board of the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF) today announced the
appointment of Dr. Raymond Madden as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with effect from
August 1, 2012.
As the new CEO of AIF, Dr. Madden commented that “I am very much looking forward
to working with the AIF Board and building strong industry partnerships to foster the
development of talent across financial services in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.”
Prior to joining AIF, Dr. Madden was Professor of Management Practice and Dean at
the London Metropolitan Business School. He has published extensively in the area of
corporate university development and is a regular speaker at conferences in the area of
learning, corporate universities and talent development. Dr. Madden continues as a
visiting professor at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (ESCP) – Europe, where he
teaches leadership and organisational management at the executive and masters level.
Dr. Madden also brings to AIF his extensive international experience in the corporate
sector having consulted widely with banking and insurance institutions in Asia and
Europe. He has also served as Global Head of Learning for leading global banking
groups. Dr. Madden has been an advisor to the Vice Minister of Finance in the People’s
Republic of China on curriculum reform and has presented to the US Department of The
Treasury on professional education and development of talent.
A strong advocate of inclusiveness Dr. Madden was instrumental in leading the Institute
of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW) Foundation fundraising effort to attract
disadvantaged young people into the accountancy profession.
