Dear Potential Candidate,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the University of Cincinnati’s Student
Government. Whether you are running for the position of President/Vice President or At-Large
Senator, this is an exciting time to be a part of Student Government. We are thrilled at your interest
in representing over 30,000 undergraduate students.
This packet contains many important documents that will be necessary for you to be included in the
April elections. You will find enclosed the Schedule of Events, Grade Release Form, the Judicial
Consent Form, the Elections Agreement Form, a copy of the 2012 Election Rules, a Petition Form,
and the Campaign Worker Registration form. Please look through the packet, and familiarize
yourself with the 2012 Election Rules. Not included in this packet is the Electronic Petition for
Candidacy Form, which is located on the Student Government website at www.uc.edu/sg.
This packet must be completed and returned to the Student Government office by Wednesday,
March 28, 2012, at 5:00PM. If the packet is not turned in by 5:00PM and the packet is incomplete
you will be disqualified and will not be placed on the April ballot. When you return your completed
packet, please reserve a place at the mandatory Candidate Orientation. All candidates and slates are
required to attend an orientation and failure to do so is grounds for disqualification.
Please remember that all At-Large Candidates are required to collect 100 signatures and all
Executive Slates are required to collect 250 signatures from registered undergraduate students of
the University of Cincinnati. Collecting signatures beyond the required number can help to ensure
that your packet is not declared invalid; additional spaces have been provided for this purpose.
This year we will be taking the candidate photos for the Blackboard voting at the Candidate
Orientations. Please come dressed appropriately. While this is not mandatory, it is highly
encouraged.

2012 Student Body Elections
The following pages do not need to be turned in but are necessary for the election process.
Please review the following documentation closely.
A few reminders:
1. Completed packets, including the Elections Agreement form, the Grade Release form, the
Judicial Consent form, the Campaign Worker Registry, and the Electronic Petition for
Candidacy, must be turned in by 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. If you are running
as a slate, forms for each person must be turned in together.
2. Students signing petitions MUST give their UConnect email- the official email for UC
Students.
3. Slates/Candidates are required to attend a MANDATORY Orientation. All members of
slates must be present. Reserve your spot when you turn in your completed packet by
Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
4. Slates/Candidates are NOT allowed to begin campaigning until April 2, 2012.
7. Elections are April 16-18, 2012.
