1.0 Introduction The report provides a listing of the ancestry and descendants of an individual or group of animals. 1.1 Report Number ZR-224B 1.2 Report Title Individual Pedigree Listing Report 1.3 References SI No. PM067 PM121 PM127 PM130 PM145 PM319 ZS0053 ZS0111 Document Reference BUC BUC BUC BUC BUC SUC DS DS Version # Date Description Maintain Genetic Data Maintain Pedigree Data Studbook Management and Maintenance Maintain Population Management Plans and Recommendations Reports and Forms Reporting, ad-hoc queries, and data export Population Management Advice Species Management Programs
1.4 Report Categories Mark the category, or multiple categories, that this report fits into (add an X to the appropriate categories).
X X X Animal Management Health Inventory Pathology Samples Taxonomy X X Drug Husbandry Multimedia Population Management Scheduling Enclosure Institutions and Staff Necropsy Preventative Health System Administration
1.5 Purpose To produce a list of ancestors and descendants of an individual or set of individuals To highlight genetic relatedness (inbreeding) in ancestry and descendants To report on genetic contributions from ancestors to individual(s), and from individual(s) to descendants
1.6 Parameters & User Interface requirements
Parameter Search/Filter abilities to identify a set of individuals. Search result should be structured in such a way to select a single individual or a set of individuals Description Search/filter abilities to identify individual(s) using all standard searches for location, sex, start and end dates, collections, taxonomy, etc.
Call this set the management set for this report Title User entered text to define the title for this report Listing Type Droplist: All (default) Founders Only Ancestors Only (Including Founders) Descendants Only Data Uncertainty/Inconsistency report? Yes or No. If YES, show Data Uncertainty/Inconsistency Report first. Default is YES. Information to be included in the listing for each animal shown Relative Type Founder= Ancestors whose parents are not defined because they are the base population (typically parents will be “Wild” but there will be cases in wild populations were parents are still known – so in these cases founders will be the initial population entered into ZIMS (e.g., starting study population). Ancestor = any ancestor of the focal management set who is not a founder Focal animal(s) Descendant = any individual with a member of the focal management set as an ancestor or founder. Parentage Dam and Sire, with layout to allow multiple parentage Sex Sex of individual, Sex ratio (groups) Status Alive, dead, missing Location Current location, last known location % Known % of pedigree of this individual that is known F Inbreeding coefficient % Contribution For Ancestors, is the % of focal animal(s)’ pedigree that this animal contributes to For Descendants, this is the % of the descendant’s pedigree contributed by the focal animal(s) Should see status of parentage X X X x
Start Date and End Date Select from one or more Collections (e.g. Primary, Rescue/rehab, etc.) Taxonomic level – “This taxonomic level only” or “and everything below this level” Include / exclude group data
1.7 Processing
Page header
Page footer
Header should include report parameters (focal animal, taxonomy)
Display page number, report print date, user name and institution
Page Notes o Include assumptions/warning notes about the scope of data and what has been included or excluded if not default setting
Pedigree should be traced back as far as possible for ancestors, and to the current database for descendants. When multiple individuals selected in set, ancestors of all individuals should be listed, and % contributions should be what proportion of that sets’ genetic contribution comes from that ancestor (for ancestors); or what proportion of that individual’s genome descends from any animal in that set (for descendants).
1.8 Sorting and Control Breaks
All columns can be sorted
1.9 Security Requirements ISIS Community 1.10 1.11 Output Format Requirements PDF and HTML for web/internet sharing Microsoft Word, RTF, or .txt for importation into other text documents Microsoft Excel or Access for data manipulation and graphing Testing Scenarios Test to include complex inbred data Test to include missing ancestors Test to include MULT parents
