     The Problem With Google Search
One thing you may have noticed with the search engines such as Google is you cannot
get real time search results. The only exception is using something such as Google
Trends.

When you do keyword research you’re usually getting results that are a month old or
older. Because of this it is difficult to gain any traction on real time search results.

I have used Google Trends to get things to go viral in the past and have had some
success, but it wasn’t until I began dabbling with the system that we’re about to cover
that I realized the real potential in this.

The results from Google Trends update about once an hour, but after a certain time they
do not update until the next day.

The only other way that I was getting real time results was if I saw something on the
news. I would then create some sort of article/video/blog and work hard to get it to rank
as quickly as possible. As you know with SEO, sometimes you can get things to rank
quickly, other times you can’t.

This system is set up so you can get traffic to your article/video/blog as quickly as
possible without having to rank in the top of the search engines.

The system that I am about to go over was emailed to me from my SEO team. They saw
an article on SEOMOZ about real time search engines. I began to experiment with this
system and realized that there was a lot of potential.

Here’s what this guide will cover:

   • How To Find Out What People Are Talking About And What Keywords Are
     Buzzing
   • Various Search Engines That Show You Real Time Results
   • How To Determine Which Keywords To Target
   • How To Find The Biggest Influencers And How To Get Them To Get Your
     Content To Go Viral
Let’s Start With Google Trends

I always use Google Trends to find out what people are talking about. Check out
http://www.google.com/trends

This is a great place to find out what’s buzzing and what you should possibly focus on.
     Let’s Talk About Socialmention.com
Social Mention allows you to search blogs, microblogs, bookmarks, comments, events,
images, videos, news, audio, social networks and much more.

Social Mention also shows which keywords are being searched for and also the strength
of the search. It also shows if people are happy, upset, or neutral about the story. Social
Mention also updates by the hour.

Be sure to check out the site at http://www.socialmention.com
Once again, be sure to take notes on what people are searching for.

Note: Be sure that the keywords that you’re planning to target have search results. In the
example that I give in the video, I talk about when the Oakland Raiders got Carson
Palmer as their new quarterback. There was a lot more searches for the keyword Carson
Palmer as opposed to Oakland Raiders.
             Let’s Talk About Topsy.com
Now that you have some keywords in mind you want to go to http://www.topsy.com
Topsy is a real time search engine that shows how many times a story is posted in the
search engines. It also shows you how many times a story is posted in the hour.
As you can see in picture #2 you can see how many times a story has been posted on the
search engines within the past hour, past 8 hours, past day, past 7 days, past 30 days and
also the all time results.

This is also another great way to stay up to date on what people post about you or your
company. You can sign up for real time results for your targeted keywords and it will be
posted to your Twitter and/or Facebook account. This is an excellent thing to do if you
are doing reputation management for a company.

With Topsy you can checking things such as Tweets, photos, videos, experts who are
discussing specific topics, and also Google Plus. You can also check by relevance, dates
and other languages.
Topsy also has an advanced section too. You can search within a specific Twitter user,
you can narrow it down to only bookmarks, microblogs, etc. You can even exclude
specific keywords too.
       Let’s Move Onto Trendistic.com
The thing that’s great about Trendistic is you can find trends that are being discussed on
Twitter. All you do is add your keyword into the search engine and see how many people
are talking about your topic. Trendistic will also show you the biggest keywords and
topics that people are talking about. It also allows you to check social trends by the hour.

Go to http://www.trendistic.com

At the top you will see that you can narrow it down to 24 hour results, 7 day results, 30
day results, 90 day results and 180 day results.

Note: Remember what I said about making sure that the keywords you plan to target are
actually being searched for? This is another reminder to you.

Also the more long tail your keyword is usually means less results.
Q: What are long tail keywords?
A: Remember I was talking about Carson Palmer? A long tail keyword could be
something like “Carson Palmer Traded To Oakland Raiders.” The keywords that were
trending when this story hit was “Carson Palmer.”
This Is Where The Magic Happens
Now it’s time to find people who are talking about your targeted keywords. This is an
amazing search tool: http://ipullrank.com/tools/gofish/index.php

What’s so amazing about this search engine is it shows you exactly what people are
talking about your targeted keywords on Twitter. How is this different from the other
search engines that I’ve covered? It’s different because this is the website that’s going to
get your content to go viral.

What Go Fish does is it shows you people who have the highest Klout score that are
talking about your keyword.

Q: What is a Klout Score?
A: A Klout score is taken from the website http://www.klout.com. The Klout score
measures influence based on the ability to drive action. Every time a person creates
content and engages with other people they influence others to check out the content and
possibly discuss it.

Klout scores are taken from social networks to measure the following:

   • True Reach: How Many People Are Being Influenced
   • Amplification: How Much They Influence Others
   • Network Impact: The Influence Of Their Network

What this means is someone with a high Klout score can create a video about a specific
subject and send it to their social network. The network feels that the video is amazing
and reposts it, retweets it, adds it to their Facebook account, then their friends add it to
their Facebook account, then someone else retweets this, then someone else adds it to
their website, etc…

When you go to the search engine and type in your keyword you will see that it takes a
little while for the site to work. Sometimes you may even receive error messages. Just be
patient.
This is showing you every Twitter account with a high Klout score that is discussing the
topic that you’re targeting.

If you don’t have a Twitter account, now is the time to set one up.

It is now time to click onto each Twitter name and send them your video/article/blog in
hopes that they will repost it to their social media friends and influence others to do the
same.

Tip: To have your content go viral it has to be something original. So for example if
Carson Palmer was the big talk of the day and so was South Park, you could create a
funny video that ties in South Park and Carson Palmer.

If you’re content is silly and unoriginal, chances are that you won’t get it off of the
ground.

Q: How Would I Make Money From Doing This?
A: Imagine if you were an affiliate for NFL merchandise. You create a video about
Carson Palmer on Youtube with a link to your website that sells Carson Palmer Jerseys.
Thousands of people begin watching the video in less than an hour and you get hundreds
of people checking out your website to buy merchandise.

Now do you see how powerful this is?
Also imagine if you had Adsense attached to your Youtube account too. By getting
thousands of visitors to your Youtube video you have the chance to make some money
there too.

Another Thing You Can Use With Google
Trends
One place that I didn’t mention was you could use Google Insights to get some more
ideas on what people might be searching for.

Remember: Google Insights does not give you real time search results, but it might give
you some ideas on what people are searching for.

Go to: http://www.google.com/insights/search/
This is what Google Insights gives you at the bottom of the page:
                              Thank You
Thanks for checking out this product. I am always striving to help others out. If you have
