The 10 Commandments Of Network Marketing That
Anyone Can Follow To Get Results
by adrianhines | on December 27, 2012
The other day I was laying in bed thinking of what to say on the Mid day motivational call that
we have every Monday – Friday with the team I’m on in my company.
It’s a huge team, well over 1,800 people.
As I was laying there I started to think about the many lessons that I’ve learned along the way
and what I am implementing right now in my business.
Then for some odd reason I thought of Moses and the 10 Commandments.
So in my humor I say why not write about the 10 Commandments for Network Marketing that
anyone can follow in any company.
I must forewarn you though.
I didn’t have a mountain top experience with God when I came up with this.
It’s just something that popped in my head that I know will be able to serve you tremendously.
The 10 Commandments Of Network Marketing
1. Never quit
If you don’t stick to this all the others are pointless. Don’t ever quit on your dream. When a
planter goes and plants seeds he ALWAYS expects a return on his harvest. Never does he
plant and then says forget about it and quits.
We have to have the same mindset. Whenever we are working our business EVEN if we don’t
SEE ourselves getting results, still work and believe as if it’s going to work out. Don’t quit after
you plant the seeds. Eventually a harvest will come.
2. Though shall not covet
This leads to you looking at other people results in your company and becoming envious
and what I call an undercover hater. Also leads to you thinking that your results and progress
3. Demand more from yourself than others do
I got this from a Tony Robbins “Unleash The Power Within” video. He had a conversation with
Michael Jordan back in the 1990′s. He asked Jordan about competing against others. Jordan
simply replied that he doesn’t look at it as competing with others.
He said he places a higher demand on himself than anyone ever could. And when he did that
everyday he was always trying to beat his best. By having this mindset, it helps to guard against
feeling like u have to compete against someone.
4. Be grateful
There’s always something to be grateful for. An attitude of gratitude goes along way. Stop
saying I’m grateful for this but I’m not where I want to be. Let me give you an example. “I’m
grateful for earning $3,000 this month BUT I’m not where I want to be which is $10,000.”
That type of BUT negates what you were grateful for. Just leave it at you are grateful for earning
$3,000 this month.
5. Have fun
I had to learn this because I’m such a serious guy at times. Treat this business like a game. I
remember the line in The Dark Knight when the Joker said, “Why so serious son”. So since I
decided to stop taking myself so serious because others aren’t. LOL
6. Work on yourself more than you work on your business
I can’t remember if it was Jim Rohn or someone else that said this however it rings true. 90% of
this business is mental. The other part is learning the marketing stuff.
If you can master your thinking, read books and listen to audio every single day on topics that
will help develop you from people that are where you want to be, then you are well on your way.
7. Celebrate victories
The size of the victory doesn’t matter. Whether you generate your 1st lead, get your 1st
commission, get 100 views on a Youtube video, or reach a rank advancement, celebrate it.
The only way you can do this is from you assessing your goals and looking back on what you
8. Be a student of the game and implement what you learn
This is a profession that will either pay you like one or like a hobby. Those that don’t hone in
on their skill sets treat it like a hobby. Friday I realized that I hadn’t gone through all my training
videos from the company I’m with.
I thought to myself how can I accurately tell people what the product is about if I don’t go
through it myself. So I stayed up till 3 Saturday morning finishing the training.
A cool thing is that I picked up something right away that I was able to implement so I could
generate income just like that out of thin air. Speed of implementation is important.
Never put off tomorrow what you can do today.
9. Test, Track, and Tweak
This may not be the fun part of working your network marketing business however it is
necessary. Since I do all my marketing online there are certain things that I can test to see what
For example in my Aweber autoresponder broadcast messages, if my open rate is not above
10% then that means I have work to do. If I see that it gets to that or above it but people are not
taking action, then that means I need to work on writing better emails.
Same thing with video headlines, Facebook status updates, etc. The smallest adjustments and
tweaks can make you the biggest fortune.
10. Help others along the way
This is a process not a journey which means you will always be helping someone. Like Zig
If you help enough people get what they want, you’ll eventually get what you want.
This is a team business. You can’t do this all by yourself, you will wear yourself out.
11. Get results
At the end of the day this is all that matters. If you don’t no one will listen to you, PERIOD.
Think about it, those that are getting recognized and earning big checks on stage have swarms
of people surrounding them because they have gotten results.
So they want to know how they did it, what’s working, what their story is, etc. The same can
happen for you. You just have to get results.
Makes sense right?
I hope these 10 Commandments + 1 (lol) was able to help open your eyes and see if you are
serious about your business.
I know I am.
I’m committed to these and know that as I continue to follow them, my income will increase
more and more.
