What is it?
iMovie is an introductory movie studio designed with the amateur film maker in mind. Combine video clips, digital photos, sound effects and sound tracks into a stunning multimedia presentation.
Getting Started
Choose from -Create a New Project (from scratch) -Open an Existing Project (in progress) -Make a Magic iMovie (automatic setup, limited editing)
Create Project
Before beginning, choose a project name and a location to save it.
Due to the file sizes involved in movie making, is important to keep all of your work on the local computer. DO NOT SAVE TO THE SERVER. Otherwise, the program will "hang up" when trying to access movie data.
In this feature, iMovie will perform much of the movie making process automatically, thereby reducing the amount of work you have to do.
*iMovie will import your raw footage, add transitions and music based on the settings you provide on the screen to the right. *If your final product is to be a DVD, you can also have iMovie automatically send the finished project to iDVD to have menus and scene selections added before burning the entire project to disc.
While this feature allows movie making to be easier, it also reduces the amount of editing choices that could be applied to the movie.
