FLORIDA GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATORS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE December 3-4, 2009 Overview The Florida Government Communicators Association Conference is the only statewide conference designed for local government and affiliated agencies communicators by their peers. Held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, it is the perfect opportunity to learn, network and talk with professional communicators from these communities about your products and services. A wide range of speakers has already been confirmed, including USAF Capt. Christina Sukach, Chief of Emerging Technology; Mayor Scott Brook, City of Coral Springs; Atty. Harry Stewart, City of Fort Lauderdale; Atty. Ron Gunzberger, Broward County Property Appraisers Office; IT Director Phyllis Koch, City of Boynton Beach; Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle, WPTV-TV; Terri Parker, WPBF-TV; Emily Pantalides and Juan Carlos Fanjul, WPEC-TV; Sunshine Law Atty. Alexis Lambert, State Attorney General’s Office; Marvin Dejean, Marcom Industries; and representatives from the Palm Beach Post and Sun Sentinel. The day-and-a-half conference will be jam-packed with discussions, demonstrations and other activities to keep everyone involved. The conference fee for all delegates will include all conference materials and sponsor promotions. FGCA became an official organization in 1989. The first official board meeting was held on September 22, 1989, in Miami. Any government communicator in the state of Florida, including those working for city, county, school board, public utility, water district and state agencies, may apply for membership by submitting an application to the Board of Directors for its determination.
Conference Overview There will be a Sponsor Exhibit Area where sponsors can showcase their products and get a chance to promote their skills and achievements. The conference is being held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, at the Hilton Garden Inn, December 3-4, 2009. The conference cost will be $199 for members and $259 for non-members, which includes a one-year membership. Daily rates are available. All conference materials, including sponsor marketing kits and more, are included in the conference cost. Attendees Attendees are top level public information and public affairs officers; communications directors, managers and specialists; media relations managers; and public relations directors and managers.
