The Internet Needs You
Yes, it really does, the internet needs You.
In 1999, exactly 12 years ago, I was in what is probably the world’s crappiest pub.
It was a tin shack, the pool table was completely uneven and the dart board only had one dart. It
was however in the middle of the Australian outback and seemed like an oasis. We had a
Everyone was happy as because in the outback you really do become yourself, and being you is
one of the secrets of success.
Knowing who you are and what you stand for, or finding your passion in life is rare. According to
Napoleon Hill in the ‘Laws of Success’:
“95% of people drift aimlessly through life, never finding what they are really
Robert Louis Stevenson, author of the classic novel Treasure Island, said,
“An aim in life is the only fortune worth finding; and it is not to be found in
foreign lands, but in the heart itself.”
Now while this is all well and good, and indeed it is possible to be happy anywhere, it may not be
enough for many in these economic hard times to just ‘know thy self’. To live in today’s society a
certain amount of money is needed, and not all of us want to do the things that earn big money.
Technology however, in the form of the internet, is now making it more and more possible for our
individuality to mean something more than just inner happiness. The internet, if you are able to
project your inner self in to the virtual world, can also bring outer riches.
Enter the Guru
“The internet needs you” is a phrase I first heard from Dave Wood in one of the Inner Circle
trainings here at Empower Network.
What he was talking about was the power of blogging, and what to blog about to attract people to
you in order to make money.
In order to do this you need 3 things.
1) You need a high authority blog site
2) You need something to sell
3) You need unique content
Empower Network can take care of the first 2, if you join as an affiliate. The third part is where
you come in. You and only you can blog about your experiences and your passions, and this
gives you your unique content.
If you have an interesting or emotional story to tell – blog it.
If you read something you think others need to know – blog it, especially if you can put in your
unique view point and your emotions.
As Dave Wood has said, his success is largely down to his ability to
“communicate inspirational messages of hope and fire into human beings and being able to transfer
the belief that I have of what we’re doing into other people’s hearts”
So how do you earn this skill?
Just like Dave did, and just like you learned to walk, one step at a time.
Besides, we all have actually done this at some point in our lives already. Think back to a time
you got excited or passionate about something, or you got into a heated debate. Focus on one
of those times you managed to persuade others and use those emotions.
All you have to do is translate that into words on a page, or, as the internet now allows us – video
The key to remember here is that your first attempts at blogging or video will most likely be
disastrous or you’ll feel like a twit. It was for everyone else too. And all their mistakes are still on
the internet, and they don’t care, and neither should you. Just start doing something daily.
A blueprint and clearer instructions are found within the Empower Network ‘Fast Start’ videos.
No doubt I’ll write more on this soon.
