November 2009 - God Receiving His Inheritance (Part One)

Part 1

God has put something in you and He expects to get something back, some dividend.  An
investor acts decisively.  He minimizes his risks and then places his commodities in the most
secure and opportunistic markets available.  He does not want to gamble.  He wants to grow his

God doesn’t gamble.  He chose to put something into the believer and expects the dividends.
He expects us to be more than we were yesterday.  Why does He expect that?  Because He put
something in us and knows that it should grow and come back to him.

… we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ … also after that ye
believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  Which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Wherefore I …  [Cease] not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  That
the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him:  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that
ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints
,  And what
the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his
mighty power … (Ephesians 1:12 – 19

The Holy Ghost has come into us bringing and sowing into our life the Life of Christ!

                                                                                          1 / 10

He is the Spirit of Christ

He is the Spirit of God

He is the Spirit of power

He is the Spirit of anointing

He is the Spirit of wisdom

He is the Spirit of love

So what is the inheritance God is expecting?  The life of Christ!  God is expecting to see Jesus
in us and He wants this image of Christ to be ever increasing in our lives.  The life of Jesus is an
overcoming life.  The life of Jesus is a victorious life.  The life of Jesus is an all-powerful life … a
life of triumph. That is the life God expects us to live!

God help us all to live for something far greater than ourselves.  We should not waste our time
with the things that perish.  Considering the immeasurable gift that God has invested into the life
of believers, we have been given the glorious opportunity to live for something greater than
ourselves, to live for something eternal!  Filled with this awesome power and life of Christ, there
is enough potential in just one believer to totally turn the world upside down!

                                                                                                  2 / 10

The result of this deposit within the believer has lifted him to a special order in this universe.
The believer is a divine delegate of the Living God, His ambassador, His voice – the believer is
not ordinary!  The believer is filled and empowered by the very Spirit that raised Jesus from the
grave!  Dare you live as though you are like everyone else!  The King of kings lives inside of you
– let him live!

Have you ever considered how Jesus has honored you through His redemptive blood?  By this
redemption, the Holy Spirit wants to join Himself to you?  He looks for the weak, those who
consider themselves small, those who have little to contribute in regards to eternal things, and
those who cannot imagine that God would possibly want to use them.  This is the typical life that
the Holy Spirit wants to come into, and provide a supernatural life.  When this happens to a
person’s life, then no longer is he just a deacon.  No longer is she just a Sunday school
teacher.  No longer are they simply ushers.  They are people supernaturally empowered by God
to live a supernatural life!

If you are a believer, you are no longer just a dad, mother, brother, or sister.  You have
something of God inside of YOU so God can have glory through you!  God, by His Spirit has
enabled you, an ordinary human, to do and say things beyond your ability.  God, by His divine
ability, has lifted you.  Where would you be today if He hadn’t?

                                                                                             3 / 10
November 2009 - God Receiving His Inheritance (Part One)

We have often heard it said, “I believe God can do anything, I just don’t know if He can do it
through me.”  Well I must tell you that he has not placed such a valuable inheritance within you
to do nothing.  Don’t compare yourself with Paul or Moses.  It is not about you, it is about the life
of Christ, and if Christ lives in you then let Him live – He will do supernatural things!

We have all marveled at the greatness of the apostles, however, when the Holy Ghost had to
pave the way for the martyrs of Christ He chose a common man, a member of the church.  A
non-apostle!  He wasn’t known throughout the world.  Among those who knew him, he had this
testimony:  he was full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom.

This man paved the way for Peter.  He paved the way for Matthew and James.  He made this
way of Christ a reality.  Truly Saul of Tarsus must have been impressed at the death of the
young man, as this Man of Faith forgave those who took his life.

Stephen, a layman, was the first to follow the Lamb through the valley of Death.  Stephen burst
onto the scene and his short life exploded into the market place, the streets, and peoples

You see, Stephen is just like us, he just simply allowed God to have His inheritance!  Stephen
shows us that God does not give the Holy Spirit to maintain our life.  God does not give the Holy
Spirit so you can get a little jump in your step.  God doesn’t give you the Holy Spirit so you can
have a happy day or so your head-ache can go away.  God gives the Holy Spirit to advance
Christ in our world! If we have this revelation of the Holy Spirit’s mission, then we will see all of
the above happen and more.  We will see the sick healed.  Believers will pass through this
world with joyful triumph, and you will dance!

With mighty power the Holy Ghost comes to TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN. If God the
Holy Ghost could come upon someone of this generation and turn the world upside down, then
the world would be right side up!

                                                                                                4 / 10

The Holy Spirit comes to:

Subdue kingdoms,

Work righteousness,

Obtain promises,

Put fight in the fighter,

Put the prophetic word in the prophet,

Stop the mouth of lions,

Quench the violence of fire,

Escape the edge of the sword,

Make the weak strong,

Make soldiers heroic,

Cause advancing armies to retreat,

Have the dead raised to life again,

Comfort the tortured,

Stand with those who had cruel mockings, scourgings, bonds, and imprisonments,

Receive those who were stoned, sawn in two, and slain with the sword,

Be a home to those who wandered in sheepskins and goatskins … destitute, afflicted,
tormented … living in caves of the earth.

He comes to make Jesus live through your life.

He comes to turn you into a soldier.

He comes to turn you into a lover of the Word.

He comes to turn you into a worshipper.

                                                                                      6 / 10
November 2009 - God Receiving His Inheritance (Part One)

I have never met a person full of the Holy Ghost who was depressed, couldn’t pray, or didn’t
want to be in the Word.  If your life has chilled, your heart is cold and you are not excited about
God, you need to be filled with the Spirit!  You don’t need something new.  You need fullness of
our inheritance to burn within you.  You need to be down in an altar praying for God to fill you
with the Holy Ghost and you will get up on fire!

If you have sinned and you are overwhelmed, realize that the Holy Ghost comes to take you
from that miserable ground.  He raises you up and says, “I have an answer for your sins!  It is
the blood of the Lamb.”

There is a reason God fills us with His Spirit.  There is a war on and God is equipping us to
fight!  God expects an inheritance from us in regards to the fight.

We are soldiers of Christ.  There is a battle being waged today against Jesus, and Jesus
expects you to come to the fight.  That is His inheritance.  God has put something in us that
makes us fight, and that will win the fight.

                                                                                                7 / 10

The first battle you must respond to is the one with yourself:  the battle over your flesh, lusts,
and emotions.  We have to fight our oppressions and be free.  If you don’t have joy then you
have to fight the battle until you get it.  If you are oppressed, double minded, and unstable you
have to fight the battle until you are free.  That is why God has given us the Holy Spirit.  He
comes to make the victory of Christ real in you!  This is marvelous.  You cannot think yourself
happy!  But the Holy Ghost can make you happy!  You cannot overcome your sin, but the Holy
Ghost can prevail!  You are walking with a God who builds faith, fills you with joy, and delivers

Next, we must fight the battle with this world.  It is a battle between light and darkness, the
kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of hell, the sons of God and the sons of hell.  Jesus
entered this world to destroy the works of the devil.  He now lives in you to enforce His victory at

The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle
(Psalms 78:9). The expectation of God for Ephraim was that they join God in the battle.  Why?
Because they were armed and equipped.  God had developed a history with Ephraim.  When
Ephraim needed God He was there.  He revealed His power to them and trained them for this
moment, but Ephraim threw that history with God away and refused to help God when He
needed them.

How many face present trials and have convinced themselves that they are not going to make
it, that they cannot take anymore.  Now come on; is that why God has given you His Spirit?  Will

not the power that raised Jesus, be able to raise you up as well?

You don’t know if you can take anymore or go any further…I’m tired and weary.  And God says
to you, “Don’t you forget what I did for you yesterday.  Don’t you forget what I did for you a year
ago.  Don’t you run away from me in this battle, don’t you leave me here to fight this all alone.
You are my habitation; you stand here and be strong, take up your position.

If you don’t speak I don’t have a voice.

If you don’t touch I don’t have a hand.

If you don’t walk I don’t have feet.

You are my house.

I have equipped you to win … no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

I give you power over all the enemy.

Now go forth and claim that victory in Jesus name!”

There is no greater king to sacrifice for, no greater battle to fight, no greater war tin which to
