                    ALLELUIA … ALLELUIA!
Happy Easter and Blessed Easter to all!
All are welcome to the celebration of this beautiful and most significant of feasts. Christ‘s death and
Resurrection is the core of our faith, and I am grateful that you have joined us. Remember, for Catholics
every Sunday is an extended celebration of this Easter Day!
Rejoice, heavenly powers! Sing, choirs of angels!
Exult, all creation around God‟s throne!
Jesus Christ, our King is risen!
                                    Sound the trumpet of salvation!
Holy brothers and sisters who share a heavenly calling, fix your eyes on Jesus, the apostle and
high priest whom we acknowledge in faith, who was faithful to him who appointed him (Letter to

                                                                                                            PASTOR’S CORNER
the Hebrews 3: 1 -2).
The Cross of Jesus becomes the Tree of Life. The one thought to be dead is raised up and is the source
of Life Eternal for all those who believe in him!
How marvelous the power of the cross; how great beyond all telling the glory of the passion: here
is the judgment seat of the Lord, the condemnation of the world, the supremacy of Christ crucified
(Sermon of Saint Leo the Great, pope).

Christ, our Sacrifice; Christ our Life!
Dearly beloved, let us then acknowledge what Saint Paul acknowledged so exultantly: Christ Jesus
came into this world to save sinners. God‟s compassion for us is all the more wonderful because
Christ died, not for the righteous or the holy but for the wicked and the sinful…. By dying he
(Jesus) submitted to the laws of the underworld; by rising again he destroyed them. He did away
with the everlasting character of death so as to make death a thing of time, not of eternity. As all
died in Adam, so all will be brought to life in Christ (Sermon by Saint Leo the Great).
Christ, our Sacrifice; Christ our Life!
                                      ALLELUIA … ALLELUIA!

(An Easter candle is lighted as the family gathers at the table)
Parent: This is the day the Lord has made, alleluia!
Let us rejoice and be glad, alleluia!
Family Members:
We praise you, Lord with greater joy than ever in this Easter season. The thirsty have come
to the water. The poor have come to receive bread and eat. Blessed are you in earth‘s
bounty: the joy of the Resurrection renews the whole world.
(Blessing of the family and food – sprinkle all with the Easter water)
Parent: Bless us and this food of our Easter Season. May we, who gather at the Lord‘s Table, continue to
celebrate the joy of Christ‘s Resurrection and be admitted finally to his
heavenly banquet. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
