Should your local DMC not handling the formalities, Sugar Beach can provide you with a
maximum assistance on all legal wedding procedures for getting married in Mauritius.


  Legal Requirements for Weddings in Mauritius

      Minimum residency required prior to marriage is 3 working days
      Minimum age - 18 years (if under 18, parental consent is required in the form of
      an Affidavit stamped by a notary)
      Passport copies (pages containing passport number, photo, issue/expiry dates)
      Birth certificates
      If single - Affidavit to declare single status
      If divorced - Decree Absolute
      If the bride has been divorced less than 300 days before wedding, then a
      mandatory pregnancy test in resort is required
      If widowed - former spouse's Death Certificate and previous Marriage Certificate
      If adopted - Adoption Certificate
      If name changed by Deed Poll - legal proof required, stamped and signed by a
      solicitor
      Personal details (e.g. names, addresses and occupations)
      Essential legal formalities to be completed upon arrival in resort, to obtain
      Marriage Licence
