• 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, (2:12)
  seek those things which are above, (Mt. 6:33)
  where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on
  things on the earth.
We have the ability to alter our desire, our love

• 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with
  Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life,
  shall appear, then shall ye also appear with
  him in glory.
• The selfish sinner is dead (Christ lives in us)
• We will receive the glory with Him when this
  life comes to its end
               Colossians
• 3:5-17 Behavior of the Christian
• 5-9 removal of old behaviors and desires
• Inordinate affection (Pathos) Passionate Desire
• Evil concupiscence (longing for forbidden)
• 10-17 replace with new behaviors and desires
 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
  do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
  giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

•   3:19 Husbands, love your wives
•   3:20 Children, obey your parents
•   3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children
•   3:22-25 Servants, obey heartily
