FDR Gold Confiscation Executive Order

April 5, 1933 President Franklin Roosevelt issued an Executive Order requiring all Americans to deliver their gold to the United States Government by May 1 1933. Americans were required to do this under threat of a $10,000 fine or 10 years imprisonment or both.
