LUKE 14:12
12 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your broth-
ers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be
repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be
blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
On the second Friday in November, we were honored to serve 265 men and women a delicious meal of lob-
ster ravioli (donated by Whole Foods Green Hills) and covered with a crab sauce created by our chef Vin-
cent. There was also some delicious molasses cookies with raisons made that morning. Serving were Lucy
Carroll, Jill Reddig, Paula Yelverton, Woody Gant, Lydia Spragins, Gayle Sanders, Lynne McCalla, Jim and
Julia Harrell, Debbie Locke, Melinda Culver, Cathy Pallardy, Hazel Nichols and Linda Kilpatrick.
Grayline, who works for Luke 14:12 and has become a friend of ours with his ready smile and easy manner,
moved into his apartment this past week. He is off the street and in a safe place of his own at last. All our
service team plus one of the life groups helped him with 16 bags of groceries plus some other things to make
his move easy. He says, with a smile, that it's hard to get used to the quiet at night, but it's getting better.
We'll be serving again on December 14th. Come and join us if you can. I think you will find joy in this minis-
try that only takes about an hour and a half, once a month. Contact Linda Kilpatrick at 371-0405 or
LindaKilp6@aol.com for more info.
