It was about 4:00 this afternoon when I realized that I was starving....like crazy hungry.

I don’t know about you, but I am one of those people who cannot do anything if I’m hungry. My
concentration goes out the window and I’m generally pretty cranky. So I went into the kitchen in
search of a snack.

I open up the pantry and there wasn’t much there. I had a couple of Cliff bars, but I had had one
already today. So I figured it was best to leave those alone.

It was only 4:00, a little early for dinner, but I realized that a snack just wasn’t going to cut it. I
had planned on making some salmon tonight, so I figured I would just make it now.

Tonight, dinner would be at 4:00.

Except, I couldn’t get the oven to start. It’s a gas oven and I swear that thing is tempermental.

Looks like no using the oven today. So I reached for my pasta and spaghetti sauce. It was fine,
took the edge off. But I knew I was going to be hungry again later in the night.

So I went to the store.  I walked through the store for a bit, not really sure of what I wanted.
Then I got to the cereal aisle.  I’ve been on a cereal kick lately ever since my recent cereal
incident. You can read all about that here on this blog.

Within seconds I spotted them...Chocolate Cheerios.

Now, Chocolate Cheerios had been on my mind recently.
They caught my attention a few weeks back...and I was curious. Up until recently, I never even
knew that they made Chocolate Cheerios.

They were on special this week for $1.99, so I figured what the hell, and put a box in my cart.

I rolled up and down a few more aisles before cashing out.

So I get home and decided to do a quick quality check on the Chocolate Cheerios.

I was excited.  I grew up eating Cheerios, so of course the idea of getting them in chocolate was
great!

Well, you know the old phrase...”just because you can doesn’t mean you should?”
Well, that’s kind of the feeling I got when I cracked open the box. They were Cheerios, but they
just looked funny.

But,

that didn’t stop me from pouring some into a bowl and adding milk.

Now, I took a bite ...

And...

they were Cheerios...

But...

Chocolate...

and to be honest, the two really don’t mix well.

I can’t believe I am even saying that out loud.

Up until today, I would have sworn that everything is better with chocolate.

I stand corrected.

It’s not that they were bad...

I mean, I did finish the bowl.

It’s just that the weren’t good.

You know, like how you’d expected a chocolatey cereal to be.

It was just that mix of the whole grain ‘o’ combined with the chocolate.

It just didn’t work.

But for $1.99 it was definitely worth finding out.

Now I know.

I’ll stick to the original Cheerios, or even the Honey Nut kind...

but when I need a chocolate fix, I will go for the real thing.

But as for Chocolate Cheerios...what can I say is.. somethings weren’t meant
to be in chocolate.

Be Bold. Come Along.
