									   Welcome to the YMCA Camp Santa Maria 2012 Staff community!

             We are excited that you have chosen to spend your summer with us.
A summer at YMCA Camp Santa Maria is a life-shaping experience for campers. Camp provides
 a unique opportunity to encourage a spirit of exploration and adventure in a safe environment.
We also provide a community of friendship and understanding. Programs at Camp Santa Maria
          provide a balance of learning, fun, challenge, responsibility, and adventure.

    YMCA Camp Santa Maria offers staff endless opportunities for growth, challenge, and
  developing positive relationships. We hope that you will find your summer at YMCA Camp
                        Santa Maria to be both impactful and rewarding.

In this packet you will find instructions on accessing and completing hiring paperwork as well as
                           information to help you to prepare for camp.

                   If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. I-9 Tax Form: Acceptable documents, listed on form, must be brought to camp
2. W-4 Tax Form
3. Direct Deposit Form & Voided Check
4. Emergency Form
5. Health History Form
6. Health Care Recommendation Form: Physical exam signed by a licensed physician



                             Please provide a copy of the following:
1. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR): - If you are 21 years of age or older
2. Certifications: CPR, 1st Aid, WFR, Lifeguard, Medication Administration, activity
    certifications, etc.
3. Photo & Bio: You will be getting a Staff Bio form from camp by email.

                         YMCA Camp Santa Maria
                           Accommodations
Telephone
CSM Staff members have access to telephones in the kitchen and office to make local calls. For
long distance calls, we ask that staff members bring a pre-paid calling card. Cell phone service is
limited at camp, but fairly decent in Bailey.

Internet
We are equipped with wireless satellite internet that provides service in common areas. Our
service is sufficient for e-mail and general internet use. We are working on improving our
service, but do not hold your breath.


Mail
Please have packages sent to our physical address (51321 US Highway 285 Grant, CO) by UPS
or FedEx.
All other mail may be sent to our P.O. Box (P.O. Box 1369 Bailey, CO 80421).
Please ask that all mail be sent to your attention. Our P.O. Box is checked daily.

The nearest post office is located 10 minutes away from camp.

Laundry
We do have laundry facilities on site at no charge. Laundry soap, bleach and dryer sheets are
provided at no cost. You may provide your own laundry soap if you wish.

Shopping
The closest grocery store and pharmacy are located in the town of Conifer, 30 minutes away
from camp. The closest department store is located in the Denver Metro area, 45 minutes from
camp. There is a convenience store/gas station, a hardware store, a small coffee shop and a
couple of restaurants in the town of Bailey, about 10 minutes away from camp.

Medical Care
The Camp Health Officer resides on site and can care for minor injuries and illnesses. Camp
Santa Maria is served by local EMS. The closest medical center is Conifer Medical Center,
located 30 minutes away from camp. The closest hospital is Swedish Medical Center, located
one hour from camp. We recommend bringing a copy of any prescription you might need to
camp with you, including prescriptions for contact lenses.

When packing you might also want to consider that we will be doing some Olympic themed
things this summer, we do a color war with Red and Blue, and Buckhorn challenge with Red,
Yellow, Green, and Blue so try and bring some clothing with those colors.

Also be thinking of things that will help make camp FUN! Silly hats, capes, goofy shoes, etc.

                                       From Boulder:
                           Head South on Highway 93 toward Golden
                    Merge onto C470 East via the ramp to Colorado Springs
                     Take the exit onto Highway 285 South toward Fairplay
                       You will go through Conifer, Bailey and Shawnee
               Look for the Santa Maria road sign on the right side of the highway
           The Santa Maria driveway is your first right after the Santa Maria Road Sign

                                        From Denver:
                      Head West on Interstate 70 towards Grand Junction
                    Merge onto C470 East via the ramp to Colorado Springs
                     Take the exit onto Highway 285 South toward Fairplay
                       You will go through Conifer, Bailey and Shawnee
               Look for the Santa Maria road sign on the right side of the highway
           The Santa Maria driveway is your first right after the Santa Maria Road Sign

                                      If You are Flying:
         Please make your flight arrangements into Denver International Airport (DIA).
