AARP Webvertorial & Microsite Specifications
Webvertorials & Microsites (Multi-page Webvertorials) give you a showcase for your message. We’ll also promote the Webvertorial on the AARP network. This is the ideal way to get your message across, while engaging our visitors in deeper, more enriching content — exactly what they look for when they visit AARP Online. All Webvertorials and Microsites include the following:
• • Presentation of your content (subject to AARP Ad Policy and Legal approval) framed within the AARP.org article template and hosted on AARP servers Related AARP Channel Designation: We can “turn on” the main menu or main menu/submenu combinations in our primary navigation so your Webvertorial appears in a relevant AARP channel (“Membership” only available to AARP Partners & Providers). 3 Fixed Ad Units on your Webvertorial or Microsite (300x250, 300x100 OR 160x600, and a 728x90) Includes 80,000 display ad Run-of-Network (RON) impressions utilized to drive traffic to the Webvertorial o These “Webvertorial Promotional” impressions will be called out as separate line items on your proposal and will be used to promote/point to the Webvertorial on AARP’s site. If you choose to utilize third party tags to promote your Webvertorial, AARP will need to provide you with the URL to use.

Delivery Notes
When Providing Photoshop files
• • • • • Please provide a layered Photoshop file (with layers appropriately labeled). Illustrate or make note of any image area that should be linked (create a new layer labeled “link” a draw a box around the desired area for instance). Please rasterize any non-standard fonts (but not the body content) or provide PC font files. In addition to the Photoshop file, please provide a separate file containing the text alone (as a Word document for instance). Please provide a jpg proof of the design.
When Providing HTML Code
• • • • If using CSS, please use inline styles only. Please note: You should not depend on AARP style sheets to drive custom layout designs as they are subject to change. Upon request, we can provide a starting template, or begin development by creating a table with the appropriate width (see spec above) and begin development within that table. Link images relative to the document and keep images in the same directory as your HTML file. All files must be in lowercase and begin with advertiser_file.ext o • For instance: widgetco_index.html, widgetco_pic1.jpg, widgetco_mainflash.swf
When delivering, please note that our email system does not permit zip files.
When Providing Flash
• Please ask your salesperson to be put in touch with an AARP technical contact to discuss how best to deliver your files and incorporate any link tracking.
If you chose to take advantage of our content development and creative services, the agency will provide all required materials to AARP.
