Objectives
Master’s degree: The formation of high quality human resources for the application of engineering knowledge in the capstone
areas of structures, mechanics and transport, supporting the academic development and strengthening research, extending its
relationship with society.
Doctorate degree: The formation of high level human resources in engineering in order to generate knowledge in the capstone
areas of structures, mechanics and transport in support of academic development, knowledge generation and strengthening of
research, extending its relationship with society.

Admission Profile
Master’s degree: To have bachelor’s degree level knowledge related to the area of interest that he/she is seeking to study.
         To be able to understand technical articles written in English.
Doctorate degree: To have master’s degree level knowledge related to the area of interest that he/she is seeking to study.
           To be able to understand and write technical articles in English.
           To show vocation for research.

Admission Requirements
1.   For master’s degree studies: original and copy of the bachelor’s degree diploma, document of professional evaluation exam
     or proof of the degree papers being processed according to the specialization.
      Structures: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and related areas
      Mechanics: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and related areas
      Transport: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, Economy, Geography and related areas
2. To submit proof of general grade point average of bachelor’s degree.
3. To have an interview with the academic coordinator for the area of specialization
4. To pass knowledge test
5. Statement of purpose with reasons for seeking admission
6. To pass an English Language Comprehension Exam, backed by an official UAEM institution
7. Letter of commitment where the student commits to full-time dedication to the program
8. To submit admission application on the dates established in the academic calendar, including the late registration period
     outside the established dates (annexing the following information)
For Mexican citizens:
      Certified birth certificate and two copies
      Original and two copies of the professional degree diploma
      Original and two copies of the bachelor’s degree studies certificate
      Two copies of the curriculum vitae/résumé
      Two ID size photographs
For foreign citizens:
      Requirements asked for in the Admission Profile,
      Prior legalization and recognition of equivalence before the corresponding authorities of the: Birth certificate, certificate
          of studies and official diploma of the bachelor’s degree
      Letter of economic solvency
      Permit of legal permanence in the country/visa, form FM-9

For the doctorate degree studies:
1. To submit original and photocopy of the: official master’s degree diploma or proof of it being processed or document of the
     degree evaluation exam, with specialization related to the doctorate program.
2. To submit proof of general grade point average for bachelor’s degree studies.
3. To have an interview with the academic coordinator of area of specialization
4. To pass knowledge test

6. To pass Comprehension Exams for two foreign languages, backed by an official UAEM institution.

Graduate profile
Master’s degree level graduate will be able to professionally participate in private enterprises and public sector organisms
related to engineering, especially in the areas of structures, mechanics and transport.
Knowledge:
    The graduate will possess the knowledge that will enable him/her to identify needs in the area of structural engineering,
     mechanical engineering and transport, as well as to propose technically and economically feasible solution alternatives.
Abilities and aptitudes:
    The student will acquire the vision for developing research work.
    He/she will have the necessary elements to occupy important positions in public and private sector enterprises, since he/she
     will be able to make decisions, manage human resources, understand economic, financial and technical aspects of an
     enterprise.
    The formation obtained in the “Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Engineering” program will enable the student to improve
     his/her abilities for business and performance.
Professional field and job market
    The graduate will be able to find a position in public sector organisms on the municipal, state and national level, in private
     sector industries, consulting services agencies and higher education and research institutions.
The doctorate degree level graduate will be able to perform high level research and to develop teaching activities in higher
education and research centers.
    He/she will complete a solid formation in scientific research methodology through his/her participation in this type of
     activities.
    He/she will gain profound knowledge of his/her area of study and of the most relevant bibliography.
    He/she will know the necessary approaches and techniques in order to broaden the knowledge in his/her doctoral area.
