The attempts on vocational guidance applied to the students in the last grade of secondary schools have vital importance in our country. However it is secondary education which have been paid the least attention in terms of vocational guidance. In our country, the issue of determining profession has been settled by parents. Parents, students, headmasters and teachers’ how to make a vocational guidance is determined partly with circular of Ministry of Education. Vocational guidance in choosing departments at 9th grade has been available. Vocational guidance for adults has been carried on by MEB Çıraklık ve Yaygın Genel Müdürlüğü. These kinds of attempts have been avaliable university and training colleges by small degrees. However all of these attempts aren’t enough. There is need for investigating the information and expriences on this issue. TOBB; TESK, TİSK, labor organizations and STKs have attempts, but they are not enough. Especially parents, students and teachers should be made conscious of vocational guidance.

In vocational guidance, it has been tried to be identified in which occupation groups the students have interests, with test techniques. However, qualified people making vocatioanl guidance are not enough both in terms of amount and professionality. Tests which have been applied must have accordance with multiple intelligences system. Some students are made vocational guidance face to face interview. In some occupations, it has been made guidance according to manual skill. However the attempts on this issue are so far away from meeting the need of job market in Turkey. While in some occupations there is labor hoarding after graduation, in some occupations there is lackage of labor in spite of over population. The aim of the Project is to investigate the attempts on guidance, presentation, leading and create a model for Turkey by identifying the deficiency in guidance at schools.…
