Registration and DUS system for some fruit species were told in the framework of the PSO project. In addition to this,
accrediated DUS desciptors and international characteristic features in each fruit species and vineyard should be presented to us
at the observation time of these characteristics as implementation inside is more useful at this programme.

Draft Seed Law
Turkish new seed legistation has been under discussion at the parliament during 2005. The old Turkish seed legistation which is
the issued 308 will be changed by new rules
Please outline the timetable for the adoption of the legislation:
The new seed legislation system and related directive will be completed by competent Authority until the end of 2006
A copy of the draft legislation in your own language and in English or French must be made available to the
TAIEX office before the study visit can take place.

Please list in detail the issues you would like to discuss with the visiting expert, such as implementing regulations, infrastructure,
strategies, training and any other elements of relevance:
To have recommendations concerning the aspects of technical substructure which is planned to put in practice in near future
with harmonisation support of the current structure. Technical assistance from France, Germany or Italy would help us to
identify our shortcomings.
To overcome the complexity of DUS TESTS (Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability) through training of Competent Authority.
To get definition some methods about how to set up the tests for registration system for vine trials especially in tomato species

To get information about common understanding on necessary explanation of measurements and observations as set out in
Directive of 68/193/EEC, 72/169/EEC
To establish classification system as defined in the related directive.
In order to implement the registration system, to start making DUS tests is needed in Turkey by using the model available in
member states (especially in France, Italy or Germany ).
To get advice for preparing the technical files for the tests with probable questions asked and answered.
4. Other background information relating to the current situation in the Candidate Country:
Please give an outline of your country’s current situation concerning the sector of the acquis communautaire indicated and
indicate any recent developments that may be relevant in this regard:
DUS test : to make registration and examination of being Distinctness, Uniformity and stability for new varieties of plant
according to UPOV variety Guidelines
Our purposes are to study both applied training and theorical training of DUS test and international registration system in Turkey
and at the other accrediated establishments in other countries, and to make adaptation and harmonisation of Turkish DUS system
to international DUS systems.
5. Draft programme for the expertise:
The training programme is planned as a technical assistance including detailed discussion on the EU Directive on the marketing
of Vine and transfer of experience gained by the Member States regarding the implementation of the directives concerned and
setting up a registration system.
