									                               25 “I Can” Prayers
(All Scripture quotations are from the International Children’s Bible)

1. I can ask
"Continue to ask, and God will give to you. continue to search, and you will find.
Continue to knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who continues asking
will receive. He who continues searching will find. And he who continues knocking will
have the door opened for him." Matthew 7:7, 8

2. I can stay in Christ’s love
"I have obeyed my Father's commands, and I remain in his love. In the same way, if you
obey my commands, you will remain in my love." John 15:10

3. I can have confidence
"We can come to God with no doubts. This means that when we ask God for things (and
those things agree with what God wants for us), then God cares about what we say."
1 John 5:14

4. I can have peace
“Do not worry about anything. But pray and ask God for everything you need. And
when you pray, always give thanks. And God’s peace will keep your hearts and minds in
Christ Jesus. The peace that God gives is so great that we cannot understand it.”
Philippians 4:6.7

5. I can be forgiven
“But if we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. We can trust God. He does what is
right. He will make us clean from all the wrongs we have done.” 1 John 1:9

6. I can be ready
“All Scripture is given by God and is useful for teaching and for showing people what is
wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching how to live right.
Using the Scriptures, the person who serves God will be ready and will have everything
he needs to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

7. I can be wise
“Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night.
Then you will be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be
wise and successful in everything.” Joshua 1:8

8. I can trust
“Trust the Lord with all your heart. Don’t depend on your own understanding.
Remember the Lord in everything you do. And he will give you success.” Proverbs 3:5,6
9. I can be changed
“So brothers, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a
living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him. This is
the spiritual way for you to worship. Do not change yourselves to be like the people of
this world. But be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to
decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing
to God and what is perfect.” Romans 12:1, 2

10. I can have purpose
“God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we
would do good works. God had planned in advance those good works for us. He had
planned for us to live our lives doing them.” Ephesians 2:10

11. I can teach others
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All power in heaven and on earth is given to me. So
go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you.
You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of
the world.’” Matthew 28:18-20

12. I can speak with wisdom
“Be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers. Use your time in the best
way you can. When you talk, you should always be kind and wise. Then you will be
able to answer everyone in the way you should.” Colossians 4:5, 6

13. I can accept others
“Each one of us has a body, and that body has many parts. These parts all have different
uses. In the same way, we are many, but in Christ we are all one body. Each one is a
part of that body. And each part belongs to all the other parts.” Romans 12:4, 5

14. I can stand against evil
“That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able
to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.
So stand strong, with the belt of truth tied around you waist. And on your chest wear the
protection of right living. And on your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you
stand strong. And also use the shield of faith. With that you can stop all the burning
arrows of the Evil One. Accept God’s salvation to be your helmet. And take the sword
of the Spirit- that sword is the teaching of God.” Ephesians 6:13-17

15. I can resist temptation
“So give yourselves to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run away from
you.” James 4:7

16. I can be content
“Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with what you have.
God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never forget you.’” Hebrews 13:5

17. I can be strong
“But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will be able to rise up
as an eagle in the sky. They will run without needing rest. They will walk without
becoming tired.” Isaiah 40:31

18. I can live free from fear of death
“To me the only important thing about living is Christ. And even death would be profit
for me.” Philippians 1:21

19. I can give God my cares
“In the same way, younger men should be willing to be under older men. And all of you
should be very humble with each other. ‘God is against the proud, but he gives grace to
the humble.’ So be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when
the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:5-7

20. I can welcome Christ
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with him, and he will eat with me.” Revelation 3:20

21. I can have a different perspective
“We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory.
That glory is much greater than the troubles. So we set our eyes not on what we see but
on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time. But what we cannot see
will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:17, 18

22. I can feel loved by God
“I do not live anymore- it is Christ living in me. I still live in my body, but I live by faith
in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself to save me.” Galatians 2:20

23. I can receive mercy and grace
“For our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When he lived on earth, he
was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin. Let us, then, feel free to come
before God’s throne. Here there is grace. And we can receive mercy and grace to help us
when we need it.” Hebrews 4: 15, 16

24. I can forgive
“God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So always do these
things: Show mercy to others; be kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Do not be angry
with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive him.
Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3: 12, 13

25. I can overcome
“My dear children, you belong to God. So you have defeated them because God’s Spirit,
who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
