                                World Missions Summit Conference

Whereas, Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship is a student organization whose objective is to allow
students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities the opportunity to explore their faith.

Whereas, students’ can explore their faith through spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship,
fellowship discipleship, and mission at McNeese State University. Chi Alpha works closely with
other student organizations on campus to promote a spirit of unity among the students at McNeese
State University. We have several members of our group who are apart of various organizations on
campus. These groups include Up Til Dawn, Speech and Debate, Student Union Board, Colleges
Against Cancer, and etc. Our members keep us informed on the upcoming events of those
organizations so we can get involved and support their efforts as much as possible.

Whereas, Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship does not require dues from its members. Students can
give an offering on a voluntary basis if they would like to throughout the semester. Students
typically pay their own expenses when we attend regional and national conferences.

Whereas, every four years Chi alpha attends a national conference entitled “The World Missions
Summit.” Students attending the conference will hear speakers from around the world share about
service learning opportunities that exist upon graduation. These speakers will also set up interactive
exhibits so students can get a perspective of working in a cross cultural context in the United States
and abroad. Majority of the universities in Louisiana will have students represented at this
conference. Students will receive pertinent information that would be able an asset to students at
McNeese State University. The conference will be held from December 28 – December 30, 2012 in
Fort Worth, TX. This conference will have approximately 5,000 college students throughout the
United States in attendance.

Whereas, the estimated cost for 12 members to attend this conference will be $4,200.00 ($350.00
per person). That will include: registration ($150.00), hotel ($100.00), meals ($50.00), and gas
($50.00). We are requesting the sum of $1,800.00 be appropriated from the Organization Assessment
Fund to defer the registration cost of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship members attending the World
Missions Summit Conference.

Be It Therefore Resolved, the sum of $1,800.00 be appropriated from the Organization Assessment
Fund to defer the cost of registration for 12 Chi Alpha Fellowship members attending the World
