Innovation in the Health and Fitness Industry:
       Conceived and developed unique fitness branded products and services, such as: “The Westin
       WORKOUT” for Starwood Hotels, “AgeFit” for active adult communities, “The Workout Room” for the
       Tourism Development Investment Corp. Abu Dhabi (TDIC), and developed worldwide fitness / brand
       standards for the Fairmont Hotel Chain and Miraval Living.

consulting and management of health clubs, spas and fitness facilities. WTS employees 2,000+ people and has
100 properties under management worldwide. In charge of researching and identifying new revenue streams for
consulting and management services. Support regional sales teams across North America, China, Russia and
Europe. Personally source new deals and negotiate contract terms worldwide.
        Successfully secured a new deal for consulting serves within the first 60 days of hire.
        Identified new sources of leads that will greatly contribute to the development of WTS’s commercial

Global responsibility for hospitality sales for this fitness equipment manufacturer with product distributors in
more than 87 countries. Developed and launched a comprehensive marketing plan, including advertising,
promotions, and sales training for commercial staffs. Created value propositions based on market intelligence.
        Secured preferred vendor agreements with: Mandarin Oriental Hotels, Fairmont Hotels, Choice Hotels,
        Four Seasons Hotels, Wyndham Hotels, Diamond Resorts and many others.
        Presenter for many hospitality conferences, such as International Hotel Shows in Rome and Venice, and
        the New York University Hospitality Investment Conference in New York.

STAMFORD ATHLETIC CLUB, Stamford, CT                                                              1993 - Current

Recruited to revitalize operations for this 40,000 sq. ft multi-purpose athletic club that had been
underperforming. Assessed existing operations, developed action plan, and raised funds to launch an aggressive
facility rehabilitation program, as well as an effective marketing campaign. Focused on hiring / retaining a lean,
quality staff to position club for sustainability.
        Turned around operations that had been underperforming by $100+K annually, to generating a profit of
        more than $100+K in less than two years.
        Grew membership from 250 to well over 1,400 members during tenure.
        Acknowledged as the “The Best Club in Fairfield County” by Fairfield County magazine.

LANDMARK ATHLETIC CLUB, Stamford, CT                                                              1995 - 1997

Purchased this 17,000 sq. ft. executive club and spa that had been underperforming and was in default of lease.
Submitted bid to acquire lease and buy business, negotiated contractual agreements, and secured seed funding.
Focused on revitalizing facility and equipment that had been neglected. Established company policies and
procedures, developed marketing plan, and re-branding the club through community outreach programs.
        Assessed human capital and hired/trained a 40-person new staff. Grew operations from under-
        performing by -$150K per year prior to purchase to generating $1.4M in annual revenues in two years.
        Accepted an unsolicited, generous buyout offer from New York Sports Club.

Created a new health club and spa concept targeting an untapped market niche, upscale “Women Only” patrons.
Created a business plan, selected site, negotiated lease agreements, and raised seed capital to launch Fitnesse.
Hired, trained and managed 35 employees. Developed and launch a targeted marketing campaign targeting
women. Implemented a pre-opening sales campaign and developed all operating policies and procedures.
        Grew membership from ground level to more than 1,200 members.
        Successfully sold club to professional female body builder, Cory Everson.

Responsible for HR initiatives, staff development and training, creating/launching innovative programs, and
public relations efforts. Quickly promoted to VP, charged with developing strategic direction that would expand
operations worldwide. In 1989, acquired 50% ownership in The Downtown Athletic Club in Miami, a 30,000 sq.
ft. health club and spa facility. Served as a Member of the Executive Committee, established customer service
policies, operating procedures, and personally conducted employee training programs.
        As Managing Partner / COO of The Downtown Athletic Club, grew membership 50% during tenure.
        As VP of The Fitness Company, expanded operations from 2 clubs to 38 clubs worldwide.
        Revitalized the Executive Fitness Center at the former Vista Hotel at the World Trade Center, which
        ranked as the “#1 U.S. Corporate Fitness Center” by Simon & Schuster’s Complete Health Club Handbook.
        Improved health club and spa operations at the Westin Hotel in Washington, D.C. to gain recognition as
        the “#1 Hotel Health Club” by Conde Nast’s Traveler magazine.
