                                   Scholarship Application

The Texas Chapter established a scholarship program in 2000. The recipient must be a well-
rounded student, who possesses a strong work ethic and high integrity. Donations and fund
raising projects that are selected by the State Board of Directors fund the program. The total
amount of the award is $1,000 to be paid in two installments of $500 at the beginning of the
first and second semesters providing the student meets the requirements set forth below. No
summer classes are eligible. The person attending or parent or grandparent must be a
Texas NATP member in good standing.

       Scholarship Criteria:
               • Applicant must be a legal U.S. citizen and Texas resident
               • Applicant can be in any College grade
               • Applicant must plan to attend an accredited 2-or 4-year U.S.
                   College/University as a full-time student (minimum 12 hours
                   Per semester)
              • Applicant must have a GPA of 2.7 or better (based on 4.0 scale)
              • Applicant must have a SAT score of 850 or better or an ACT score of 21
                 or better.
     Attachments to be included with application:
             • Copy of current year transcripts
             • Copy of SAT and/or ACT scores
             • Copy of parent’s or (yours if you are attending college) most recent
               income tax return- Pages 1 & 2 only
             • Essay (under 500 words) describing the qualities that distinguish you from
               other applicants and explaining your career plans and goals
             • Three (3) letter of recommendation:
                   1. One from high school instructor or college instructor
                   2. One from community service leader
                   3. One from employer or long-time adult personal acquaintance
     Funds will be awarded to the student for the second semester provided
      he/she maintains the following:
              • 2.7 or higher GPA
              • 12 or more semester hours
              • Good standing with the college/university
    Return completed application and all attachments to the address below by May 1, 2009
