Self Confidence Can Be Your Best Asset
"Self-confidence gives you the freedom to make mistakes and cope with failures without feeling that
your world has come to an end or that you are a worthless person."
The above quote might say it all, but there is a bit more to it than that. Gaining self-confidence requires
some effort on your part. Ok... a lot of effort. Here are a few things you can try.
First and foremost, establish your belief system and stand firm in all that you believe. If you don't, you
will always be left with doubt. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to second-guessing
ourselves. Your belief system will provide guidance, making you feel good about the choices you make.
Self-acceptance is a huge factor in gaining self-confidence. You can't change who you are, so learn to
accept yourself for who you are. Everyone has good qualities. Once you use that to your advantage, you
will see that you will have more people in your life that are accepting of you as well.
Another way to gain self-confidence is by taking the time to write down a list of the positive things
about you. Also, write down what you enjoy doing and what you're good at. No one is perfect. Everyone
has flaws. Everyone is bad at something. Forget that. It's irrelevant. Focus on the positive. If you're
having a hard time, ask friends and family.
Try to encourage yourself more and be proud of all that you do; reached goals, completed tasks, earned
achievements, etc. It is fine to take pride in all that you do. Allow others to take notice, give praise and
make compliments. Take it all in stride. The more you accomplish, the more people take notice, the
greater your self-confidence will become.
If you want to achieve something you've never achieved before, you have to be willing to do something
you've never done before. Don't be afraid of failure. Everyone fails. Just try again. Learn to experience
new things by taking on new challenges. You will be surprised by what you are capable of if you just
make the attempt. Face your fears and overcome them. That is a great way to feel better and prouder.
One of the biggest problems people have with gaining self-confidence is a need to please others. Stop!
Be yourself. Live your life. Forget about pleasing everyone else. Forget about living up to other's
expectations. If they can't accept you for who you are, that's their problem. Everyone is different.
A simple, but very effective way to gain self-confidence is by dressing the part. If you dress in well-fitted,
fashionable clothing that make you feel and look good, you will exude a very positive attitude which will
attract positivity towards you. This can open a lot of doors.
Lastly, never care what others think. Remember... you weren't put on this planet to please everyone, so
don't. Do you and don't be ashamed of it. Life is too short to not experience it the best way you know
how and gaining self-confidence is a great way to accomplish all you could ever hope to.
