but to serve and to give Your life
           as a ransom for many.”
         Isaiah 52:7 (read by all)
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet
                 of those
          who bring good news,
           who proclaim peace,
        who bring good tidings,
        who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

               WE CONFESS
P: Almighty God, our Father, we come before You
in honesty today, confessing our sins in
   thought, word and deed.

LWML: We have looked upon Your Son,
Jesus, but have not really seen Him.
P: At times we’ve looked at Him as the Pharisees
   looked:

LWML: worried that we would have to
give up our own power and prestige if
we acknowledged Him to be our Lord.
P: At times we’ve seen Him through the eyes of
   Pilate:

LWML: skeptical and cynical and
refusing to believe that Jesus is the
Way, the Truth and the Life.
P: Sometimes we’ve been part of the
worshipping crowd, part of the congregation:

LWML: but we’ve let ourselves get
  distracted and bored because
worshipping You is a time when “it’s
  not about me.”
P: Forgive us O Lord. Help us to truly see Jesus
   with the eyes of faith.

LWML: Forgive us O Lord. For we do
repent and turn our hearts to You.
       ASSURANCE OF PARDON
P: Friends in Christ, I do invite you today to
see your Savior for Who He really is: Jesus
is the Friend of sinners; Jesus is the Good
Shepherd; Jesus is the Living bread which
came down from heaven. If anyone eats
of this bread he will live forever.
Jesus is the Water of life; Jesus is the Light
of the world; Jesus is the One who came to
seek and save the lost; Jesus is the One Who
said, “He who believes in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live!”
P: Receive now the forgiveness of your
Savior, Jesus. As your repentance and
faith in Him is true, so are all His
promises to you. Your sins are forgiven
in the name of the Father and of the Son
  and of the Holy Spirit.
LMWL: Amen! We rejoice with the ranks
of the sinful woman, the healed beggar,
Lazarus and all the faithful who have
  gone before us.
             “Glorify Thy Name”
1. Father:
2. Jesus: we love You,
3. Spirit:
            we worship and adore You,
Glorify Thy name in all the earth.
              Glorify Thy name,
              Glorify Thy name,
Glorify Thy name in all the earth.
                PRAYER

P: Lord Jesus, when You began Your
public ministry, You chose an interesting
cast of characters, who argued about
who was the greatest, who deserted You
and betrayed You, but through whom
  You established Your Church.
Our feet aren’t much different, but
like those who have gone before us You
continue to use us for Your mission and
ministry through us.
Guide our feet that You made ever so
beautiful as we do the work that is
placed before us as leadership in the
Michigan District LWML.
P: As the beautiful feet of those in
Scripture gives us hope, O Lord, may You
also be willing to work through us. Such
is our fervent desire, and such is Your
promise for which we give you our deep
     praise and thanksgiving.
Guide us in this meeting to Your glory
for Your name’s sake. In Jesus we pray
     this.
                   LWML: Amen
