The New Mexico Real Estate Commission Fines Unlicensed Real Estate Activity
Santa Fe/Albuquerque – The New Mexico Real Estate Commission has fined Ton
Haak and Ans Zoutenbier $1,000 each for unlicensed real estate activity and has ordered them to immediately stop any advertising or management of residential real estate. In a settlement agreement approved by the Commission on January 21, Haak and Zoutenbier also agreed to provide the names and addresses of all of their clients and customers for the past two years so that the Commission can inform them in writing that their properties have been managed by unlicensed individuals in violation of the Real Estate License Law. Operating under the name Abiquiu Vacation Homes, Haak and Zoutenbier had managed about twelve properties in the Abiquiu area, including Canones Cabins, El Rito Retreat, Medanales Mesa Retreat, Barranca Plaza Casita, Casa Granada, Canoncito Creek Retreat, La Lomita, River Farm Guest Casita, Casa de los Palacios, Casa Ambrosia, Abiquiu House, and Amelia. New Mexico Real Estate License Law requires that individuals who manage property for others hold a real estate broker’s license issued by the Commission.
