							  Welcome To
The Horse Room!

          Welcome
• Teacher: Mrs. Denise Tucker
• Assistant Teachers: Mrs. Rebecca
  Jenkins, Mrs. Helen Cook.
              Times
• School begins at 8:15. The tardy bell
  will ring 8:20 if your child arrives
  after this time, you will have to take
  them to the office and sign them in.
• If your child is absent, please send
  an excuse within three days of their
  absence.
            Labeling
• We will have many items sent to
  school this year, please make sure
  you write your child’s name on
  everything that belongs to them so
  that we can safely return it to them!
           Nap time
• Children need a small blanket or
  towel for rest time.
• NO pillows or stuffed animals, please!
• Every child has their own cot that is
  assigned to them at the beginning of
  the year. We do not share cots!
         Daily Folders
• Students will take home an green
  communication folder daily.
• Please check the folder for notes and
  behavior information.
• The folder must be signed by a parent and
  returned EVERYDAY to school.
• Students will get rewards for returning
  their folders !!
        Communication
• Their will be a new paper added to the
  folder soon. It will be for you and I to
  communicate or ask questions.
• Their will be two columns, one for the
  parents and another for the parents.
• Simply respond in your column if I make
  comments in my column, and I will do the
  same.
• This is separate from behavior!
   CONFERENCES
• I hold conferences at least twice a year
  (December & May). These are to discuss
  your child’s progress, we like to have both
  parents present for the conference.
• If you would like a conference at any other
  time during the year please call and
  schedule one! 686-7438 or e-mail
  denise.tucker@berrien.k12.ga.us.
          Breakfast
• Children eat breakfast here at school
  as a class!
• The cost of a daily breakfast is $.65.
• If your child eats breakfast at home
  and you do not want them to eat
  breakfast here please send me a
  written note.
                      LUNCH
•   Our lunch time is 11:30!

•   Regular student lunch is $1.25!

•   Please make sure you complete the free and reduced lunch form. You are
    responsible for your child’s lunch until they are approved. If you are not
    interested in the program, please write “not interested," sign and return it.

•   Your child may bring their lunch, please make sure it is in some type of
    container labeled with their name.

•   If you would like to come eat lunch with us, we would love to have you!
                 Snacks
• Snacks are provided here at school free of
  charge for our pre-k students.
• Snack is served after nap @ 2:00.
• If you would like to send a special snack, please
  let me know—we would love to have them!
• Many of the children do not like the snacks that
  we have, you may send a snack for your child if
  you wish or they may eat something left from
  their lunch box.
            Visitors
• We love to have visitors here at
  school! You may come and eat lunch
  with your child or grandchild. I only
  ask that you give your child a few
  weeks to become familiar with our
  school routine before doing so.
      Birthday Parties!
• We love to share in the excitement
  of your child’s birthday.
• If you would like to celebrate with a
  small class party see me to plan in
  advance.
          Volunteers
• There will be numerous occasions
  that will require parent volunteers.
• We will have field trips, read aloud
  days, class parties, and PTO.
• I would love for you to become active
  to show your child how interested
  you are in their education!
Please make sure that if your
  child is going to get home a
  different way than usual
  SEND A NOTE or your child
  will have to go home the
  regular way!
            BUSES
• Please make sure that I have a current
  address for you so that your child will get
  on the correct bus!!!
• If you have not made arrangements for
  your child and you need to, the bus barn
  number is 686-2527
Please make sure your child knows what bus
  to ride home!
         PICK-UPS
• Pick-ups begin at 3:10. Every child needs
  to be picked by 3:30.
• Please remain in your vehicle and stay in
  line and some will help load your child.
• Make sure you have your sign in your
  driver side windshield.
           Checking Out
• If you come to check your child out early-please
  come before 2:15.
• You must bring your ID.
• If you send someone else to pick up your child,
  they must be on the pick up sheet in the office.
• Student must be there until 11:30 to be counted
  present for that day.
• Please stay in the office unless told otherwise and
  we will walk your child to the office.

  you about your child’s progress
  anytime!
