                         We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Charleston--Mt. Pleasant, 250 Johnnie

1500 – Welcome mat is out and registration begins. Hospitality room opens in the Holiday Inn’s
Seabrook room. A lounge is available in the hotel. NO ALCHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE SERVED

1800 – 2100: Our welcome meal will be a plated meal and served in the Mt. Pleasant Room. We will
have three choices for our meal: Pasta Primavera @$27.00 a plate: Marinated Slice Sirloin @$33.00
per plate and Grilled Salmon @$35.00 per plate. This meal will include salad, vegetables, potato and

0700: Breakfast on your own. There is a buffet available in the hotel dining room for a fee of $10.95
per person plus tax.

0845: Buses arrive for our Historic Charleston and Boone Hall tour. We will be touring Charleston,
one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the south. We will see stately homes, lovely gardens,
magnificent public buildings and majestic churches. You will see the College of Charleston, Harleston
Village (an early suburb of the city), the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, and of course
their famous Battery with its elegant town houses built by planters and merchants in the 18 th and 19th
centuries, After touring the city, spend a couple of hours in the OLD CITY MARKET shopping,
browsing and have lunch on your own at one of the many excellent restaurants. We then reboard the
bus, journey across the Cooper River to the town of Mt. Pleasant. Here visit historic BOONE HALL
PLANTATION which was used in the filming of the TV miniseries, “North & South” and “Queen” and
for background filming in “Gone with the Wind”. Tour lovely Colonial Revival plantation house, the
slave quarters built from brick made on the plantation IN THE 1800’s and watch the flower ladies
making their sweet grass baskets.

1600: Arrive back at the Holiday Inn.

The price of this tour is $67.00 per person, which includes tip for driver and guide.

Dinner is on your own so that you will have a chance to relax with friends and shipmates.

0700: Breakfast on your own. A dining room is available for breakfast.

0900: First bus departs for Patriots Point tour.

0920: Second bus departs for Patriots Point. We will be posting the names of who will ride on what
bus on Friday in the hospitality room.

This tour is for visiting the Patriots Point Museum, which includes the USS Yorktown, with aircraft on
the flight deck, the USS Laffey (DD724); the submarine USS Clamagore; Medal of Honor Museum;
an authentic Vietnam Support Base; and a cold war memorial. The price for this tour is a two tier
affair. If you are a Tin Can Sailor Member (and have your membership card) the fee is $20.00. If
you are NOT a TCS member, your fee will be $32.00. For each guest, the fee is $32.00. This fee
also includes your lunch in the USS Yorktown’s CPO mess.

An orientation meeting will be presented by a Yorktown volunteer, after which you will be on your own
during the day, enabling you to visit each display at your own pace. Lunch will be at 1200. Our buses
will depart at 1400 and 1430, enabling us to return to the hotel to freshen up and prepare for our
Saturday evening Banquet.

1800: Meet in the The Grande Ballroom for our evening banquet. A picture taking session of the
shipmates will take place before we begin our meal.

1830: Raffle drawing, memorial service for departed shipmates and a business meeting.

1900: Our banquet buffet will consist of two entrees, Grilled Chicken with demi-glace and baked filet
Of Flounder, with tossed salad, baked potatoes, green beans almandine, and the chef’s choice of
dessert. The price of this meal will be $38.00 per person.

                                        Sunday, September 16, 2012

0800 to 0930: Charleston Breakfast buffet consisting of sliced fresh fruit display, hickory smoked
bacon, hash brown potatoes, country scrambled eggs with peppers and onions, cinnamon French
toast, assorted Danish and muffins, chilled orange juice and fresh regular and decaffeinated coffee
and assorted hot teas. The price of this meal will be $19.00 per person and will be served in The
Grande Ballroom.

The following items will be available for purchase in the hospitality room to add to our treasury.

HARWOOD DD & DDE Iron on patches @4.00 each
HARWOOD Bumper Stickers @$2.00 each
HARWOOD Challenge Coins @$10.00 each

We will also have a raffle on Saturday evening during the banquet. Items to be raffled will be
announced on Saturday.

Cancellations and Refunds

If cancellation request is received on or before August 14th, 2012, 75% of the fees will be refunded.
After August 14th, 2012, all fees are nonrefundable.
