                                     PROJECT UPDATE:
The City of Tiffin is beginning three major projects starting in the fall.

The first project is the water main to the Industrial Park. This eagerly anticipated project
will begin in October and should be completed by the end of November. Please be
advised that this major project may slow traffic from time to time in the area of Ireland to I-
80. Although, the City strives to have as minimal an impact as possible during your busy

The second project is the new 500,000 gallon water tank. This project was bid and
awarded to Maguire Iron in the amount of $1,153,900. There will be a separate bid in the
spring for the water lines to connect everything to the town. Completion for this project
take approximately 12-14 months. Everyone should see improved water pressure and
better water availability once we hook onto the new tower next year in the late fall. Again,
the City will attempt to be as minimal with traffic interruptions next year once this project
is in full swing.

Finally, the Ireland Avenue roadway is almost ready to start bidding this winter. This will
be a welcomed addition to the City that has been planned for years and it will make travel
more convenient and easier around town. Although, we do not have a breaking ground
start date yet – the City plans to have the bidding begin in early 2013. This project
completion should take approximately 18 months or less to complete. We will have more
information available as we progress.

                                   FINES CAN RESULT!!!!!!
The City has been contacted several times because people are violating the leash law and not
picking up after your pets. Please be advised that all animals must be on a leash. We also have
had instances where people are letting their pets loose and not pick up after them in the ball
fields area. That is not an enclosed dog park for your pet! The limestone the City purchases to
keep the ball fields in playing condition is extremely expensive. Additionally, children are out
there constantly playing and have stepped in animal waste. If you are caught letting your animal
loose you will be fined!

Some of the City staff has changed and it is imperative that rules are followed and laws are
enforced. This will also include parking on the public streets for long periods of time. By law, you
must move your vehicle every 24-48 hours. The public street is not a storage area for your cars,
boats, campers and other items.

The City attempts to provide a phone call as a warning to violators, if unable to reach via phone,
a letter may be sent to follow-up. Please make sure Tiffin remains a great place to live, work,
visit and enjoy for many years to come!

Projects such as driveways and extensions, sheds, fences, sidewalks, some retaining walls and large landscaping
projects, re-roofs, geothermal installations, trenching, underground work and room remodels might require a building

building permit. Contact city hall for the permit application form.
