									Ron Paul Defends Growing
Secession Movement
Retiring Congressman notes principle is “deeply American”

Steve Watson
Nov 19, 2012

In his weekly update, released today, Congressman Ron Paul defends those who have signed
petitions in all 50 states advocating secession from the federal government, referring to the
principle as “deeply American”.

Echoing comments he made back in 2009, Paul notes “This country was born through secession.
Some thought it was treasonous to secede from England, but those “traitors” became our
country’s greatest patriots.”

“…the principles of self-government and voluntary association are at the core of our
founding….There is nothing treasonous or unpatriotic about wanting a federal government that is
more responsive to the people it represents.” the Congressman adds.

Explaining that the recent election only served to further entrench the political status quo, Paul
urges “…our own federal government is vastly overstepping its constitutional bounds with no
signs of reform.” He reminds Americans that “the first and third paragraph of the Declaration of
Independence expressly contemplate the dissolution of a political union when the underlying
government becomes tyrannical.”

Though he says he is not holding his breath that any state will actually secede, the congressman
stresses that “If the possibility of secession is completely off the table there is nothing to stop the
federal government from continuing to encroach on our liberties, and no recourse for those who
are sick and tired of it.”

“If a people cannot secede from an oppressive government they cannot truly be considered free.”
Paul adds.

Listen to the congressman’s comments on secession in full below.

In a separate development, Paul announced in an interview with The Hill Sunday that although
he is retiring from Congress, he has no intention of scaling back his speaking schedule and his
ongoing campaign for liberty.

“I’m excited about spending more time on college campuses, not less. College campuses will
still be on my agenda. That’s where the action is.” Paul said.

As we noted last week, several detractors have claimed that American citizens who signed the
secession petitions are effectively advocating a new civil war, and can rightfully be stripped of
their firearms.

Some even argued that any American advocating secession should be stripped of their
citizenship and deported.

As we described at length in our editorial, Secessionists do not want to be part of a separate
country, they wish to use the terms of the Declaration of Independence to peacefully reconstitute
through the states and restore the Republic.

ones who ended freedom and rights in America, the globalists did.

That depends on how you define “better.” I’m sure a lot of generals and officers of the
former Red Army want their USSR back. At one time the USSR could project power
globally with numerous weapons system across the full spectrum of land, air, and sea. It
was, with only one exception, the mightiest nation in history. I’m sure they didn’t give
that up by choice.

To the 2nd Anonymous — People who want to secede are criminal traitors? Excuse me,
but the criminal traitors are the ones in office. The last 8 Presidents have committed
treasons worthy of DEATH. Seceding IS stupid, but it’s not a criminal act. Seems we

Well, said. As long as we continue to have troops and LEOs that remember their oath
we have a much better chance. The problem comes in that the NWO maggots have
intentionally obscured the lines of recognizability so that any good LEOs might not be
able to recognize a conscious” citizens from just another Obamatard zombie.

All I can say is that once the veterans learn how many LEOs are going to desert the
NWO ranks, those veterans will be watching their brothers’ backs. Personally, I’d sleep
a lot better at night knowing we really were united like that. The globalists, however, are
doing all they can to disunite us from our own people. If one of their stated goals has
been to dissolve the bonds of unity as seen within religious, ethnic, or nationalistic
groups, you can bet their goal is to also turn each one of us against each other.

How many people can name their state electors? These are the ONLY people who have
authority to elect the POTUS. Yet, nobody seems to know who they are, where they came
from, and how they got there. INCREDIBLE!!! Before discussing session, don’t you
think you should correct the structural problems already embedded within the
Constitution (slave holder’s Constitution)? If not, you will be right back where you
started from and nothing of substance will be made of it. The Electoral College was
designed to perpetuate slavery. Pure and simple. Nothing to do about “mob rule” with is a
red herring. You have mob rule now, called oligarchy. If this one thing were to change,
there would be an incredible transformation. The other thing that is critical is to “de-
personify” corporations. They are not humans. They are artificial. They have no
Constitutional Rights per se. Find out where you elected representatives stand on Citizens
United and demand that they change the law.

I don’t live in the U.S. anymore. I saw the handwriting on the proverbial wall years ago
But when I did, I participated in a lawsuit in Nevada against that State’s Elector’s in re:
Gary Coutin, v. Electoral College, et. al. (incl. Sec. State). I met with Nevada’s
Electors (most), and sat in court during the proceedings (not as council). I helped
construct a poll to find out what the general public knew about their rights, or, in the
instant matter, the lack thereof. So, the issue of the Electoral College is one in which I
have first-hand, boots-on-the-ground experience, including historical analysis. Keep in
mind, antebellum Southern States always had a serious issue to deal with: having slaves
as property, not persons, while at the same time suffering a reduced population because
of it. Can’t have slaves vote because they are like chickens and cows. What to do about
it? Ah….how about giving slave States MORE representation by virtue of the Electoral
College? How to sell this? Why, tell them that without the Electoral College, you will
have mob rule. LOL. In other words, it’s ok to discriminate as long as it is reverse
discrimination. Even the SCOTUS was split on this, which should adds fuel to my
argument. The decision was 5-4 to stop the vote count in Florida in 2000. And what did
you get? 911. The Patriot Act. TSA. Not to prove that Gore was any different. Voter
apathy in POTUS elections has everything to do with misrepresentation and under
representation. I personally stopped voting when it became electronic. It’s the vote but
who counts the votes. Basic. With the Electoral College, you make vote fraud

What a lot of brainwashed nonsense. It is not that corporations are not persons. It is that
humans are not persons. The legal definition of a person is a corporation. They had to
call you a person in order to capitalize on your birth certificate which they trade in the
stock market & use by spelling your name in all CAPITAL letters. There is no way in
hell that you can “de-person” a corporation as corporations are inherently persons! The
fact of the matter is that you were brainwashed to see yourself as a person as well in
order to be used as a corporate entity for the elite. When you refer to yourself as a so
called “person” you are playing the elites game & ceding power.

mkriley Reply:

The legal definition of personhood just so happens to be the foundation of my argument,
so thanks for stating the obvious. The law is unjust. That which is unjust, is not law.
See, Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad. See also, Citizens United. If, as
you say, corporations are persons, and, as the SCOUTS has ruled, money = free speech,
then you my friend mean nothing. Oh sure, you can pretend you are important, free, and
all the hyperbolic rhetoric needed to stem the tide of discontent. But, at the end of the
day, you are nothing more a modern version of Dred Scott, property….whose value is
determined by your bank account. If you like this version of America, then I suggest
you keep on promoting the metaphorical chains that enslave you. But, it is not just the
Constitution — Jones is only partially correct. It is the post-Civil War Constitution that
matters because both the Confederate and Union Constitutions were almost identical.
The difference? The Declaration of Independence…and with it, one-man, one-vote. No
3/5th bullshit.

 Anonymous Reply:

The problem is not the Electoral College, it’s the universal suffrage. When the college
was designed, there were many censuses thaq one had to meet in order to qualify to cast
a vote. Only one of them seems to be still around: the age census. The others are to be
brought back to rectify the voting debacle, besides the voter ID laws: residency census,
property (land) census, employment census, mental capacity census, and so on, so that
multi-generational public teat sucklings couldn’t put in their $500-a-month worth of
handouts each… And, if you have a Social Security number, you are a person, ie.
CORPORATION, – yet reportedly THEY refer to us as “serfs”.

No. The Electoral College was designed to give smaller states a representative voice in
the governance of the union / confederacy / macro State & election of the President.
Without it they would be reduced to having virtually no say in who is elected President.
It was adopted ironically in part to prevent smaller states / republics from being
alienated. Alienation of states & the people in general is now the major reason for the
recent reassurance of the secession movement. There is a great article outlining the
significance of the Electoral College entitled: Math Against Tyranny. The Electoral
College was intended to prevent the sort of tyranny we are now experiencing but the
system is so rotten to the core that it alone is insufficient as the major political parties [

mkriley Reply:

I don’ think so. In a State of only 1 person, it would have two Senators. You are correct
in that the Electoral College is designed to change the popular vote, if need be, and by
virtue of under representing people in more populous states. The notion of “one man,
one vote” is the underlying concept of the Declaration of Independence. To say that
some people are more equal than other is another Neo-confederate, Libertarian baloney.
Another fallacy is that people are property. Under the idiotic Ron Paulers, property
trumps people. Sorry folks but the slave states lost the war. Yet, incredibly, some of you
are hell-bent on repeating history because you failed to learn from it — products of a
deficient public education no doubt. We do not celebrate the slave holders Constitution
but the post-Civil War Constitution which has the Declaration codified into it much as
the Bill of Rights was in the first one. There was much resistance to the inclusion of the
Bill of Rights into the Constitution, perhaps from Ron Paul’s relatives and his
misguided followers. You have the mess you are in today in large part because many of
you are neo-confederates yet have no clue that slavery was only abolished on racial
grounds. Without the aforementioned changes, all of you are now fair game for slavery
which I suspect is why you are disenfranchised. But remember…the slave holders know
how to dupe you and from my readings, it is working quite well for them.

Such Neo-Confederate bullshit. The British oligarchs and freemasons have been waiting
over 2 centuries to extract their revenge and I am sure they are reading these posts,
laughing that how close they are to getting back what they lost — on two occasions,
once in 1776 and the other date was 1865. This time around, they have convinced the
petty proletariat to accept their own slavery. LOL! Without firing a shot they have
masterfully done what centuries have denied them. You need to read the opinions in
Bush v. Gore to see that the average citizen has no Constitutional right to elect POTUS.
If you are so enthusiatic about the current system, perhaps you could name your State
electors and tell how they got there. Moreover, it is common for the public to think they
elect the POTUS and that small minority that know they do not will regurgitate the same
b.s. about “small states” and “mob rule”. Good luck having Florida and Ohio decide
your future. Meanwhile, the system throw the people of large states under the bus. A
cabal is a cabal is a cabal.

Furthermore mod rule is what you inherently get in a democracy as 51% can vote to rob
the wealth of the remaining 49% by law. The Republic was crafted as a measure to offset
that dynamic by enshrining democratic representation with the context of the rule of law
which protects minorities from the tyranny of the majority. Republicanism is supposed to
reflect sound government.

Anonymous Reply:

Yes democracies are nightmares that always result in the oppression of unpopular
minorities. That’s why Obama is calling for “democracy” in Syria. The Arabs will
“vote” to slaughter the Alawites.

OP you seem a little confused, probably leftist propaganda influencing you.
Corporations, persons, and similar entities fall under one legal umbrella term: monsters.
Yes, I’m not making this up, legally every “person” is legally recognized as a “monster”
which in legalese is defined as “An animal which has a conformation contrary to the
order of nature.” We are men, not monsters. When you look up the definition of the
word corporation in a legalese dictionary it gives “person” as a synonym. If you look up
the definition of “person” in a legalese dictionary the first definition given is “monster.”
Go and look this up. Saying we need to “de-personify” a corporation is literally saying
we need to de-monster a monster.

For those of you who hold so dear the Electoral College, knowing quite well that you, as
an individual, have no Constitutional Right to elect the POTUS (in re: Bush v. Gore),
why is it you cannot name your own State’s Electors by name? Moreover, does you
State Constitution require or compel your Electors to cast their vote based on the
outcome of the popular vote? Because how could you possible speak with any authority
about this while at the same time admitting your utter ignorance? You believe in the
principle so much you decided to take a pass on knowing the details? Do you know just
how ridiculous that sounds? I only wish I had opposing counsel as ill prepared in court
as I see here because it would have made my job not only fun, but easy. Why is so many
insist on perpetuating their own slavery? Do they not know that the 14th Amendment
did not vacate Dred Scott? It expanded the definition of slavery to include all races. Yet,
I am amazed at how many people have bought into the ascension of property over
individuals (Ron Paul), forgetting that “human capital” is property just as Dred Scott
was property. Just because you’re white doesn’t mean you should think of yourself as
“free”. I can assure you that your true opponents haven’t made that error.

Mkriley, yes everyone does have a corporate charter, it’s called a birth certificate. Keep
in mind that it is a legal document that”certifies” your existence as a “person.” As long
as you are certified a person, legally you are a corporation. The reason it’s hard for you
to understand is because your view of the law is inverted. You think corporations
should not be defined as persons because you believe the word person refers to a man.
However, the word “person” actually refers to the fictional entity a corporation creates
to represent itself. This fictional entity is what the government has reduced all people
to. Instead of men, who have inalienable rights, we are now “persons” that are under
the jurisdiction of the legal system (rules for the incorporated USA) not common law.

has a long history of attempting to disenfranchise human beings, from Native
Americans, to African-Americans (and African slaves), to women (suffrage). The ruling
elite has always ruled by divide and conquer, pitting one side against another. But what
is the common ground here? Not race. Not sex. Not material wealth. Not education. Not
pedigree. The common ground humanity. I can tell you without any reservation that the
ruling class hates humanity and thus, will do all it can to convince you to hate it to. The
current global austerity measures prove this…but it goes way back. The fact that so
many people in the USA vote against their own interests (Social Security/Medicare)
proves this point. I can’t tell you how many senior I have interviewed who would be
dead now if who they voted for gained any power. That’s how brainwashed they are and
how successful the ruling class has become. Don’t be a dupe. It’s lethal.

Under the present system, Wyoming gets three electoral votes for a population of
568,300 people. That works out to 189,433 persons per electoral vote. Using the
Wyoming as a base ratio, Wisconsin with 5,698,230 would get 30 electoral votes, but is
only allotted 10 at present. Pennsylvania with 12,734,905 people would get 67 electoral
votes, but is only allotted 20 at present. California with 37,341,989 people would get 197
electoral votes, but is only allotted 55 at present. Why should it matter where you live?
Why is this “fair”?

You are focused way to hard on a non-issue. The electoral college doesn’t matter
because the whole election process is rigged to begin with. It is an outdated and clunky
system, but it is not the mechanism the globalists use to promote their patsies. They run
the voting machines and can program any outcome they want, electoral college or not.
The last thing we need to do at this moment is change our constitutional election laws,
we simply need to follow them!

Paul doesn’t care if his $1T in domestic cuts kills millions on food stamps. Ron Paul is
in business to resurrect the Confederate States of America, or “Neo-Confederate” States.
This is a back-door effort to recreate the racist South. Ron Paul’s Constitution looks
identical to me as the Confederate State’s Constitution. And, by being a Neo-

Good luck with state legislatures joining the succession movement. Most governors are

One man can make a difference, and it is so wonderful for America that so many people
have voiced there opinion to secede! It would be amazing, because they claim oh if they
secede they won’t recieve federal aid. It is so funny that they take 1 million dollars from a
state, than give them back 20,000 dollars and call it federal aid. Honestly where would
the Federal Government even get money without the sates? It’s ridiculous, it is so good
for America that people have done this, and I am interested to see Obama’s official
response. More power to the people, what a great peaceful way to turn America around
towards more liberty, and freedom, for all.

Ron Paul is right, there will be no successions allowed. Hell, Texas is bigger than France
and they backed off telling the TSA to stop grabbing their genitals, after the Federal
Government was going to “no fly” zone them! Signing these petitions will just let the
Federal Government know precisely who is going to be a problem, and that is all you
idiots will accomplish by signing one. The original US Patriots worked in secrecy, lest
the English discovered who they were.

If a Revolution occurs, it cannot and will not be peaceful, because one must fight fire
with fire. Even with only the usual 5-10% willing to fight (15-30 million armed), that is
a Hell of a force to contend with. Since the US Military cannot even handle some puny
third world countries, it is doubtful if they can handle their own countrymen.

This violent Revolution will happen right after the financial collapse and/or full scale
nuclear war, and it will definitely be racial in nature. Another hindrance to the US
military stopping this revolt is again racial division. Anyone who thinks the US military
   is multicultural has never served.

Without nationalizing the Federal Reserve, there is no hope to the secessionist movement.
Each State would die from a lack of money within days, if not weeks. The Fed governors
and their shadow oligarchs are not going to back you, meaning you will not get access to
capital. When you run out of bullets, then what? There won’t be any money for you to
buy new ones nor would the Feds allow inter-state commerce under such conditions.
Forget Ron Paul. His speech is nice but how many speeches have you heard before only
to have been burned by actions in opposition to the words? There is much you can
do…start with exposing the 911 fraud and forcing your representatives to enact
legislation reversing Citizen’s United. Abolish the Electoral College. Strip corporations
of human right that trump your own. Put people over property. Restore the social safety
net and tax Wall Street transactions. Outlaw toxic derivatives. But, when I read (here at
this website) that roughly 1/2 of the public likes the TSA, it means you are probably
   getting the government you deserve.

Many things are more clearly seen from the distance – I live in the time zone UTC +8.
My ‘knowledge’ of the US constitution is only based on what I ‘learned’ from this site.
If it is true that the constitution allows states to secede than a petition to the government
to allow secession gives the government the right to deny secession – a right the
government did not have before any such petition.
To me it looks that all the petitions are just window dressing and they designed to make
sure that the request can now rightfully be denied and the denial can now rightfully and
    forcefully be prevented.

I don’t think any state will secede, not in this decade anyway. But remember this: should
a state secede, then that state will still be America. The federal government is not
America, the people are America. America existed before the federal government –
before the Declaration and the Constitution were even written – and America will exist

With Obama, we’ll have no more space programs, no technological inventions, we’ll be

maxxxem, you’re the one who is full of sh!it. “Israel is being attacked”? The Zionist
Movement, armed by the U.S. and Britain, long ago invaded and took 78 percent of
Palestinian land. Of the remaining 22 percent, Israel has “settled” another 12, leaving
Palestinians today with only 10 percent of their land.
Israel systematically destroys the Palestinian economy. They dig up roads, power lines,
water pipes. They destroy olive trees, which take twelve years to grow before they bear
fruit – destroying a basic part of the Palestinian economy.

Israel murders Palestinians randomly. Izzy soldiers have testified that their sergeants on
patrol beat up Palestinian men, and even shoot the ones that protest too much. They have
fired at boys playing soccer at a school. An Izzy helicopter – paid by U.S. taxpayers –
fired at a Palestinian family having a picknick by the beach. And it goes on like this.

Israel murders and destroys the infrastructure, to provoke Palestinians to respond. When
they do, the Zionist cry is the usual one that it has been for decades: “We are being
attacked for no reason! Oy! Wasn’t six million enough already?”

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been murdered. But the Zionist media only focus
on the few Izzies that are killed. Like the Mossad motto says, “By way of deception thou
shalt wage war.” The Israel hate state, the parasite state living off U.S. taxpayers and
extremely one-sided trade deals with the EU, is the master of deception. Thanks to its
contacts in U.S. media and lobby groups.
