What is the CFC

   Federal Employees’ annual workplace
    fundraising drive for charity
   Planned, organized and implemented by
    Federal employees
   Contracts with a participating charity to serve
    as Principal Combined Fund Organization
    (PCFO) and administer the program
   United Way of Greater LA is the 2012 PCFO

   Consists of Federal managers
   Hires PCFO & approves budget
   Conducts charitable eligibility review
   Provides oversight of PCFO

   Conducts executive visits
   Promotes the CFC amount their peers
   Supports the loaned executive program
   Attend key CFC events

   Consists of campaign coordinators, keyworkers
    & charitable representatives

   Assist in recruiting LFCC, cabinet, loaned
    executives, coordinators
   Develops campaign material
   Provides campaign orientation & training
   Receives all campaign reports
   Serves as fiscal agent

   Feb – Mar:   Eligibility, recruit leadership
   May – Jul:   Develop goal, strategies, sub-committee meetings
   Aug – Sep:   Train Loaned Executives, Coordinators/keyworkers,
                 distribute campaign material
   Sep – Dec:   Kickoff, conduct solicitation
   Jan – Feb:   Evaluation
   Feb – Mar:   Awards event
   Apr – Jan:   Pledge distribution

Campaign partnership

   Attend kickoffs, rallies
   Provide speakers, prizes, material

Campaign Initiatives May Include

   Volunteer/community involvement
    opportunities
   Recognition in newsletters, press releases,
    website, radio, TV, Facebook, etc.
   Increased involvement in event planning
   Provide examples of assistance to Federal
    employees
Federation Responsibilities

   Communicate with member agencies
   Timely payment of pledges
         How pledges are processed
   March – August: PCFO agreement signed, committees recruited
    and organized
   Sept. – Dec: Kickoff, white forms sent to payroll and yellow to
    PCFO for processing
   January: PCFO receives monthly, payroll deducted payments
    from various payroll centers
   February: PCFO is reimbursed for campaign expenses (March –
    February
   March – PCFO send campaign summary and designation totals to
    participating charities and begins monthly distributions to charities
    (April)
   April: Federations send payments to member charities
CFC thanks the donors, LFCC, Cabinet, loaned
executives and the hundreds of coordinators and
keyworkers who make this campaign successful.
