Comparing Plants and People Discuss the following with your family: Focus on the following two questions: HOW IS A PLANT LIKE US? HOW IS A PLANT NOT LIKE US? Complete a VENN diagram comparing plants to humans (see below for instructions on how to complete a VENN diagram) Activity: Look at the sample VENN diagram to help you see how to fill one in. On the blank VENN diagram, write A Plant above the first circle and A Person above the second circle. In the first circle, write characteristics of a plant which are not characteristics of a person (eg. has roots). In the second circle, write characteristics of a person which are not characteristics of a plant (eg. people can walk around). In the spot where the circles overlap, write down characteristics which are the same for plants and people (eg. both plants and people are alive). *** VENN diagram sample and VENN diagram to be completed are attached.
