							     VESA Marketing Update
          March 2008

Dear Member
It’s been a busy and exciting new year at VESA. The reason for this is – Change. Constant re-evaluation of a company
ensures Growth.

We have changed the Articles of Association to ensure that VESA members are equally represented and it enables
members normally not able in attending the AGM, etc. to vote via the Proxy system. We are also putting in efforts in
defending VESA in litigation against “unscrupulous” parties trying to benefit from VESA illegally.

We have been asked by some members what the benefits are for being a VESA Member and I’d like to share this with
you.

By ensuring standards, we prevent the market from being overrun by inferior products that will tarnish the image and
damage the market of secure products and installations. Setting standards and testing against this, has continuously
raised the bar in vehicle security and has made VESA (and that includes all our members) world leaders in vehicle
security and there are numerous countries such as Canada that are using VESA as the model to copy. This has given
credibility to what we do and how we do it.

VESA (which consists of its staff and - You - the member) plays a vital role in upholding industry standards in the vehicle
security industry to ultimately, combat crime.

Here is how it works:

                                                       VESA & ABS =

                         communication communication

Why does VESA apply disciplinary actions?
As a standards and regulatory body, it is our duty to ensure that voluntary members adhere to the code of conduct and
that any wrongful action are addressed with the member, so as to not harm the image of VESA and its members.

Some measures have to be taken to ensure that members realise that there are consequences for not following a guide
or set codes of conduct, e.g. the client’s vehicle’s level of security is breached as a result of a poor installation, which
could result in vehicle loss and then tarnish the image of VESA. Should we then immediately cancel the members’
membership or apply a disciplinary action? You decide!

What type of marketing does VESA do for me?
VESA does:

meetings with brokers and insurance companies – a company relies on the strengths of those that supports it.

How can I improve my own marketing and increase business flow to my company?

This is very exciting because the creativity and opportunities to market your own business are endless. However, let’s
look at the following ways:

    1. Your greatest asset is not your building, stock or tools – its your customers.
    2. Customer Service is the crux of every business.
    3. You HAVE to keep a complete customer list with name, telephone, e-mail/fax details. Customers consist of the
public who have come in for a VESA Certificate (inspection/installation), vehicle dealerships and suppliers.
    4. The only way to increase business through your doors are Marketing. Establish what sets you apart from other
businesses and communicate these benefits to your customer list.

“Pride in Workmanship, Integrity in Conduct, Dedication in Reducing Crime”
                                                                                                                 2 of 3

    5. Business excellence and creativity ensures growth – no one knows your business better than you.
    6. Communicate regular specials or stock clearances to your customers – stay in touch with them by e-mail, fax or
       post.
    7. Word-of-mouth marketing is very effective. Ensure that you thank those that have brought business through your
doors, this will keep them as your loyal ‘marketers’.
    8. Have a once-a-year get-together with your clients who’ve supported you. Invite them for new product demos,
launches, etc. It will have them coming back for more business as they are valued by you.
    9. Ask your clients for referrals, its an excellent form of obtaining additional contacts.
    10. Make a wall of fame for photos with your customers, letters of appreciation and thanks from customers, etc. It’s a
visible marketing tool to new customers visiting your business.
    11. Repetition increases business. Keep in continuous touch with your clients and repeat the benefits of your service
offer to them (reference - Dan Kennedy Marketing).
    12. Have a local broker meeting and invite other fitment centres to participate. Your strength as a group will increase
the exposure and benefit of the organisation you belong to. We will gladly provide you with necessary tools.
