Dear Prospective Participants:

On behalf of the President and Executive Committee of USANA, it gives me great pleasure to invite you
to participate in the USA Netball Association’s 2010 National Championships, which will be held at the
Catherine Forbes Clark Athletic and Recreation Center, University of Massachusetts, 100 Morrissey
Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125-3393, on June 19 - 20, 2010 starting at 8:30 a.m. est.

You will see that there are different categories of participation. If you are a USANA member, you may be
eligible to participate in more than one section. In the interests of development, USANA actively
encourages participation by all netball teams from within the United States as well as overseas.

The attached entry forms should be completed and returned together with the applicable
registration fee(s) to :

Entry fees are as listed in the accompanying paperwork, but early entry will assure you of a confirmed
place in the competition and reduced entry fee. We encourage you to take advantage of this.

In consideration for the privilege of attending and playing in the National Netball Championships
hosted by the United States of America Netball Association, Inc., the undersigned, as a
representative/member of the respective below named club, do hereby forever waive, release,
relinquish and hold harmless and totally not liable, the United States of America Netball
Association, Inc. and it’s members, and the University of Massachusetts, its trustees, officers,
employees and agents from any and all injuries which may arise from or as a result of my
participation and my club's participation in this same National Netball Championships. As a
member or affiliate of the below named association/club(s), I am aware of the risks involved in
any athletic activity and assume all responsibility for any injuries sustained as a direct result of
or arising from participation in the USA National Netball Championships. By signing below, the
undersigned and her/his club members also acknowledge that United States of America
Netball Association, Inc., is merely a licensee and not an agent of the University of

                         section. Players participating in the “closed” section of
                         the competition must be registered USANA members
                         of the team they represent. Players participating in the
                         “open” section of the competition may only play for
                         one team except in the mixed and Area Association
                         sections of the tournament.

                    Rules and Guidelines Governing The Championships

The rules of International Federation of Netball Association (IFNA), in conjunction with the rules
outlined below, governs this championship.

   1. The tournament shall consist of two Sections:

       Saturday, June 19, 2010 starting at 8:30 a.m. est.:

       A.      Senior National and Open Club Championships
                      Categories: Female, Male, and Mixed (maximum 3 males per team);

C.    Male Versatility Tournament

All entry/registration fees shall be non-refundable.
* Sections/categories may be amalgamated dependent on number of entries.
2.   The tournament shall be open to all USANA members; or bona fide members of another
     IFNA and/or AFNA registered governing body. In the interest of promotion of Netball,
     non-members of USANA will be allowed to compete as above but their scores shall
     count towards in open competition tally. Only bona fide USANA member clubs and/or
     Area Associations will qualify in the national championship sections of the competition.

3.   Registration will commence at 8:30 am sharp. Players for each team participating in the
     National Clubs Tournament must be bona fide members of that club as set down in the
     Constitution. Pre-tournament registration will be available on Friday evening at the
     official tournament hotel.

4.   For the Under 21, Under 16 and Under 14 Divisions, a valid form of identification must
     be provided at registration to verify age.

5.   The Parade and Presentation of Teams shall commence at 9:00
     a.m. Matches will commence at 9:30 a.m.

Umpiring

6.   The Umpire's decision is final and shall be given without appeal. Umpires will be
     appointed by the USANA Match & Tournament Committee.

     NOTE: Any team who is unable to supply a qualified umpire will be charged an
     additional $25.00 for each section in which they are entered. No umpire shall
     umpire the club/association of which they are a member or which they represent.

Games & Points

7.   The format of the tournament will be decided based on the number of teams that
     respond to the invitation. The tournament draw will be supplied shortly after registration
     has been closed.

8.   Points shall be awarded as follows:

            Win: 5 points; Draw: 3 points; attaining more than 50% of the winning team’s
            score: 1 point. If any team fails to take the court at the appointed time, their
            opponents shall be awarded 5 points with 10 goals scored for their total tally of
            goals.

9.   In the event of a tie on points when group placements are determined, goal difference
     (goals for minus goals against) shall be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, goal
     average (goals for divided by goals against) shall be used to determine the higher
     placed team. If there is a tie on goal difference, a match consisting of 2 minutes each
     way between those tied teams shall take place. If during the semi-final or final rounds
     the match is drawn at the final whistle, 2 minutes extra time each way will be played. If at
     the end of the extra time the game is still drawn, the scoring/time-keeping officials shall
     signal end of extra time but play will continue until one team shall be winning by 2 clear
     goals. That team will then be declared the winning team.
Time

10.    The duration of each match shall be determined from the number of teams participating,
       and will be announced at the time that the draw is published.

11.    There will be no stoppage time and no injury time. In the event of an injury, the
       player(s) involved shall be removed from the court immediately and play continues. In
       the event that a serious life or limb threatening injury occurs, the umpires have the
       discretion to call time until that player may safely be removed from the court by qualified
       medical personnel. ONLY in this circumstance will the normal substitution rules apply as
       per rule 6. Otherwise an injured player will be removed from the court immediately with a
       substitute filling that injured player’s position. Team changes may ONLY take place at an
       interval. Any team abusing this rule shall be dealt with at the discretion of the tournament
       referee(s), following consultation with the umpires, and may have points deducted or
       such other penalty imposed as may be appropriate.

12.    Men’s versatility tournament only: Players rotate positions in order for each game. GS to
       GA to WA to C to WD to GD to GK to GS. No change of positions is permitted during the
       game as this is contrary to the spirit of the competition. Substitution is only permitted for
       injury.

Start of Play

12.    The Umpire's whistle, upon the timekeeper's signal, shall indicate the start and end of
       the game and each interval.

13.    Players are allowed to register and play on only one Club team in each section (all
       female, all male or mixed) for the duration of the Club Championships. Similarly, players
       are allowed to register and play on only one Area Association or Elite representative
       team for the duration of the Championships.

14.    Each registered team, regardless of the section (all female, all male or mixed)
       participating in, MUST consist of a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of 12
       players. Mixed teams shall consist of no more than 3 male players who shall be
       one shooter, one center court and one circle defence player.

15.    Captains need to toss and report the result to the appropriate scorers’ table at least five
       (5) minutes before the start of each scheduled game, which is before the preceding
       game ends. They shall notify the umpires in a timely manner.

16.    All teams must be ready to play within two (2) minutes of the previous game. Teams who
       are not present on court for their scheduled game will forfeit the points. If both teams are
       not present at the time the match is scheduled, the match will be declared null and void.
       If one team is on court and ready to play, that team shall be deemed the winner and will
       receive 10 goals for its team total per rule 8.

Awards

17.    Trophies/medals will be awarded in each respective competition/ section of the
       Championships.
Other

18.     The USANA MTO Committee reserves the right to amend, delete or add to these rules
        prior to the Championships.

19.     Any matters outside the parameters of these outline rules shall be resolved at the
        determination of the tournament referee(s) if such matter(s) should occur during the
        tournament; all other matters will be dealt with by the USA Netball Association Match &
        Tournament sub-committee.

20.     Any person (of whatever capacity) who abuses either physically or verbally another
        attendee (of whatever capacity) or who deliberately causes damage to any equipment,
        fixtures or furnishings at the tournament will be summarily removed from both the
        competition and the premises and may be precluded from participating in any future
        USANA event.
