JULY 15, 2008 ACTA HITS A HOLE IN ONE ACTA Ontario and GTAA celebrate annual golf tourney’s 20th anniversary Yesterday at the Hockey Valley Resort in Orangeville, Ontario, ACTA Ontario and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) presented the 20th edition of their annual golf tournament. With a shotgun start at 10 a.m., 140 players were off to relax with colleague and enjoy a day of golf. Hole sponsors this year included Australia Pacific Touring, Barbados Tourism Authority, Blue Cross Travel Insurance, Ensemble Travel, e-Travel Advisories, Galileo by Travelport and Worldspan by Travelport, Insight Vacations, Trafalgar Tours & Contiki Holidays, Jamaica Tourist Board, OpenJaw, Pottruff & Smith Insurance Brokers, RBC Insurance, Sabre Travel Network, TIC Travel Insurance Coordinators, Tourism Ireland, TICO, VisitBritain, VoX International/Las Vegas CVA, and WestJet/WestJet Vacations. Blue Cross Travel Insurance held a chipping contest to benefit the Children’s Wish Foundation, eventually raising $1,545 at the end of the day. Heather Craig-Peddie, Regional Manager, ACTA Heather Craig-Peddie, Regional Manager for ACTA Ontario, introduced some of Ontario the title sponsors including the GTAA and other major sponsor, WestJet and WestJet Vacations. WestJet’s Emmet Reidy, Director of Leisure Sales, said the biggest news from the company were the brand new Barbados service from Toronto (starting November 3, 2008) and the airline’s codeshare and distribution agreement signing with Southwest Airlines. President and CEO Christiane Theberge was unable to make the Ontario tournament, and David McCaig praised the organizers, Craig- Peddie and Fiona Bowen, who brought everything together to make the day a success. Craig-Peddie announced that anyone eligible to become an ACTA cardholder and who attended the golf tournament would receive a 20 per cent discount on the membership.
